Graphic Cards ATI HD 4890 On April 9th

Nice benches...What i really liked was the pwer consumption of the nvidia cards...A GTX295 consumes same power as a single core gtx275..
 
GTX275 has been released in direct competition with HD4890. But the stats

on TechPowerUp websites show that GTX275 has completely devoured the HD

4890 and the likes. And there is no shoulder for the HD4890 to cry upon. :O

Is this card really worth the $249?

Adding upto all that, does any one know how good is 4890 when Crossfired?
 
its not suprising if u c the specs of the gtx 275 it has more pixel and texture filterate and the main thing that determines the performance of the card is te memory bandwidth which is also high in 275 4890 has better clocks than 275 and it also has the latest gddr5 memory but lacks in memory bandwidth 4890 is also 10$ cheaper than 275 .and oe more thing will this card run well with my corsair vx450w smps ?

seems to do comparatively well against 4870x2 in gpu bound situations,but then two 4870s tend to be a bit faster than a 4870x2 as well.

most of the time gtx275 wins is in 2560x1600,lower resolutions the 4890 wins out in most cases though game settings tend to vary the differences between the cards all over the place.:p
4890 rigs requires ~10W over the 4870 so it should be fine on a vx450 unless you have got an oced quad and plan to 1Ghz on the gpu as well
 
funny to see that 4890 consumes more power at idle, gtx275 consumes lesser power at idle
gtx 275 consuming as much power or more power than a gtx 295 at load, while 4890 has way lesser power consumptiong at load:rofl:
 
funny thing is gtx 275 is available on techshop.in whereas the 4890 is not...gtx 275 was supposedly a paper launch in the U.S. yet the story is different in India.....is the 4890 available anywhere in Nehru Place????
