Graphic Cards ATI X1xxx Series News

Lol. who cares :E. All the Gamers go for Performance. An no1's or almost no1's screen reso goes up to 2560x1600.

And Gamers usuallyplay @ 1600 max! Cmon,

2560x1600, imagine the sad fps though.

nVidia still rules the gamers segment, and thats what i care about.

^^Err goldenfrag, care to tell us where you got a 7800GTX Vs R520 benchies ? Your statement above is based on your fantasies more than facts mate. Let the "better" sites review the r520 when it comes out and then we'll decide whos better. ;)

Apple cinema displays support those resolutions. Besides the display industry and people who use insane displays will benefit. Other than that general enhancements wrt to display quality and media playback as always good. Atleast ATi have brought some good feature set that will make their products stand apart. As for 3d gaming performance lets just wait for the "real" benchies.

nVidia still rules the gamers segment, and thats what i care about

Hmm If you dont count the OEM market, as you put it who cares for other then performance, ATI is in a lead like it or not. ATI also has a better pricing strategies then Nvidia, its always ATI who reduces the prices first, followed by Nvidia.

Even right now if you check the sub 300$ market, ATI has better cards compared to Nvidia in the price range

Its simple.

High end market = 10-15%.

Rest of the market is value, low end , mainstream and OEM. The king of OEM rules the business. Thats how it is.

The major business of these companies is this market.

I'm I hate to type this out : But for once ATI are looking stronger.

I mean its high time a 7600 is out atleast, what are the guys at nVidia doing, M*****BATING ???

there was no reason for 7600 uptil now.

i am sure it will be released soon once the ati cards are released.

y would nvidia release 7600 when there is no direct competition for it. ppl will end buying 7800 which is good for nvidia.

nah, people were buying old GF6 series cards not the 7800GTX ;)

Ya 7800series had no competition but thats not where the big business is. The advantage of getting mainstream cards out in large nos is the OEM market. Earlier releaseing partners get more orders. Thats the advantage of releasing it early.

And mainstream card from Nvidia was not planned even for Q4 but i think now they are forced to do so.

First of all. I DInt say that the 7800 will be better than the r520. Infact i think that the x1800 xl and xt may beat the 7800 gtx, just coz its come so late. But then again the 16 Pipes, changes my mind. Ill wait for the release :D.

MY mum is going to the us, in may, ill get myself a nice card + amd x2 + new mobo then :D.

Radeon X1800XT works at 625MHz /1500 MHz

BACK IN August, ATI told its partners that 600/1400 are the clock speeds that it was aiming for, but it didn't tell them that those clocks would be the final clocks.

Around the same time, we received news that R520 - now officially known as the Radeon X1800XT - is going to be overclockable to skyhigh limits. We still stick with our story that the cards are going to work at 700MHz+ but this of course won't be the shipping speed. Yields would probably be very low at those speeds.

But if you look at the memory ATI is using for chips that you can clock to 1600 MHz, there's still a lot of headroom there. We suggested that memory will be very overclockable and we haven’t been wrong on this one either.

Speed doesnt make a difference. Architeture does :D, so does Pipelines. (I think that should come under Architecture :P)

LEts see what the High Clockes speeds can do.

Speed does not make a difference??

Then what is the difference between a 6800GT and an Ultra?? the difference between an X850 XT PE and an X850 XT??

souce of the info is clearly visible in the pic.

Also some info, dont know if anyone posted this before.

MARKHAM, Ontario, Sep 20, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- You'll never look at your PC the same way again, once you've seen a computer with Avivoâ„¢ from ATI Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:ATYT) (TSX:ATY). Avivo includes hardware and software technologies that refine video capture and playback, and greatly improve display quality. Computers with Avivo provide much more accurate color reproduction than other PCs - they can display 64 times as many colors - and so are essential for anyone editing photos or viewing video. In addition, Avivo makes PC games look stunning on any current display and the superb image quality gives Avivo users the gaming edge.

All digital photo and video files are processed through a series of steps before being displayed on PC monitors. A flaw in any one of these steps will produce a less accurate video or image. ATI's Avivo refines all of the steps to ensure the best photo and video experience:

Using today's current computer architecture, Avivo delivers flawless video playback by supporting hardware MPEG-2 compression, hardware assisted decode of MPEG-2, H.264 and VC-1 video codecs, and advanced display upscaling
64 times the number of colors currently available in current PCs for amazingly vibrant images that are more accurate with higher color fidelity with unprecedented 10-bit processing throughout Avivo's display engine
Extreme resolutions, such as 2560 by 1600 or higher, on the latest digital displays using dual-link DVI, as well as high color depth support over DVI
Industry-first advanced up or down resolution scaling for high quality viewing on any flat panel display using ATI's unique solutions never before implemented on the PC
Accurate video capture with features like 3D comb filtering (a feature previously limited to high-end televisions), front-end video scaling, and hardware MPEG video compression
True-to-life image reproduction for TV programs with hardware noise reduction and 12-bit analog-to-digital conversion for high-quality video capture
Universal connectivity to support standard TV, HDTV, video input and all PC displays via digital (DVI, HDMIâ„¢) and analog (VGA, Component, S-Video, composite) ports
"ATI's Avivo will revolutionize the PC in the same way that high-definition revolutionized television," said Rick Bergman, Senior Vice President, PC Business Unit, ATI Technologies. "As the world's leading supplier of reception and display solutions for high end digital televisions, ATI is delivering the world's leading video and display technologies to the PC. ATI's Avivo benefits anyone who edits digital photos, enjoys a home theater PC, or plays PC games."

ATI's Avivo is receiving acclaim from a wide variety of industry leaders.

"ATI's new Avivo will play a key role in enabling life-like visual fidelity all the way from content creation to consumption," said Bob Brewer, Corporate Vice President, Desktop Marketing Segment, Microprocessor Solutions Sector, AMD. "ATI has been a valuable strategic partner for many years, and we're pleased to extend our relationship by working with them on the development of new Avivo solutions," said Mike Ling, InterVideo VP of Marketing. "With InterVideo's superior codec technology and ATI's innovative video and display technology, we can deliver a new level of playback performance and visual quality on the PC."

"ATI's Avivo enhances the fully integrated digital entertainment experiences Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 offers with rich video and display features," said Dave Mendlen, director of Windows XP products at Microsoft Corp. Radeon Rx5X generation comes on the 5th

MANY READERS have asked us about the date and we kind of didn't want to write the story until we were 100 per cent sure. Now we can quite certanly say that ATI plans to reveal the R520, RV530 and RV515 generations shortly after an Ibiza event it's holding, soon. The planned date is, we believe, early October.

These things can change but you can expect that not long after the month dawns, there will be many reviews and articles on the Tnternet about this generation of ATI cards.

Radeon X1800XT, R520 Crossfire reviews should follow shortly after the launch but ATI is preparing to steal Nvidia's focus until the end of the month.

Don't miss the countdown on ATI's website. There are less and less secrets about these cards. µ

Launch in 11 days :D
