it depends what kinda music you go for ...with an ios device ...signal to noise ratio is better in case of apple devices but frequency response is bounded onto a particular band ....which restricts bass pretty much and hence songs with high bass is not recommended for apple devices ..bass throughput is not so advanced where in case of other brands they make some compromises with sound quality and make bass strong and ..once again it depends what kinda songs you here on such devices....earphones also play an important because they also carry s/n ratio and frequency response ...so always make sure you have same rating on earphone as well as your devices you buy ..so that they add on to your music demand and produce good sound
