By jerky I think he's referring to the gear shift changes. This could either be the power loss when the clutch disengages to select the next gear, or an issue with the rev matching. Switching to manual mode isn't going to help in either case.Yes I know. But in this case, since the reviews say that it is a bit jerky and ponderous while switching gears, i was wondering whether driving it treating it like a semi manual would eliminate some of these lags.
I meant driving it in the mode where you manually switch gears by +/- and change it to neutral when the car stops since the car (in this case) might stall because it takes time to select the correct gear, I was talking specifically about AMT's only. I understand how normal automatic transmissions work. Basically what I was saying was that there would be two steps here, one the computer deciding the optimal gear to be in and second the car switching to that gear. If the delay is in the first step, can't it be eliminated by using the manual (+/-) mode? But if it is in the second stage. I guess nothing can be done?^^ never heard about semi-manuals, so can't understand your frame of reference.
