Our LAN has about 20-30 windows workstations with a file server which mainly has the VSS database.
While all the workstations have individual AV protection, we have nothing to protect the server itself at the moment. Oh I have installed Clamwin but I am not sure how good it is.
Please suggest a decent AV that is preferably licensed on a per server basis.

AVG Small Business Edition. Kaspersky AV for Enterprise, Symantec AV client or Norton End point Protection. These will do better.

Kaspersky has one of the best detection mechanisms . +1 for that. Nod32 is also good. For free one i would prefer avira but it's free only for non commercial use.

Thanks for all the responses so far.

Please note that I do not need to protect the workstations as they are all individually protected.

The file server alone needs protection. It is running Windows 2000 Advanced Server. The problem with most server edition AV products is that the license is based on number of servers plus number of users.

I am looking for a suitable product that would need me to buy just one server license. There is Avast server edition off course which offers a per server license but is there anything better?

I am not aware that Avira or NOD32 has a server edition

Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Server

Thanks but that link is for product updates if you already are a customer.
The important part of my question is what kind of license would I require for using the AV on a single machine running a server OS without a need for remote access, central management, protection of the other workstations on the LAN, etc.

i'm using Kaspersky internet security 2009 on my Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7 64 bit.

Kaspersky internet doesn't support it actually. i done some work around on setup file. Edited the Setup file.

now that setup installs on any Windows Version and works fine..

if u like u can buy 3 or 5 user license for this ..

Kaspersky File Server is not much good as internet security. Kaspersky internet security have Firewall , online security and everything we needed.

so i felt it's most secure..

else. u can opt for ESET Smart Security Business Edition, or ESET AV Business Edition licences..
