* What will be your primary usage for the notebook be? Web surfing, Downloading, Office applications

* What size and weight considerations do you have? Minimum of 14"inch screen

* Any brand that you prefer, or any brand that you detest? Anything will do

* Any other considerations? Even a celeron powered will do for me with this budget, a decent HDD space of 40GB, Wifi LAN, 3 or 4 USB Ports, a good 90 or 120 mins of battery backup

Netbook would be a really good option for ur requirements but wont get a 14" screen...
But that can be a really good downloading rig
