Hi guys
its like everyday that i hear people complain how Torrent Trackers have become a b**ch to seed on
Our Indian ISPs have severely FUPed our survivability in those Private trackers where we get our daily dose from
so i thought i would post an entirely different method of getting the content you want
Its Newsgroups
Usenet newsgroup - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (for detailed info)
Pros
Faster Speeds
No Seeder dependency
Secure connection over HTTPS are available
Tougher to block by your ISP
Anonymity
You don't need to seed-back or shit like that
Cons
Retention depends on your provider, for paid it may go as high as 1200 days but for free just over 380 days
Existence of fake files (to avoid this you should choose a user indexed site)
now onward to the small guide
First you need a Server or NewsGroup Provider
There are numerous providers out there like Astraweb,Giganews,Blocknews etc
they have retention running into 1200 days with 97% average completion rate
and are not free, you'd have to pay anything between 12$ to 20$ for a month of server access.
However if you want a free provider, you can try
XS Usenet - Free Usenet provider but the speeds are limited to 1Mbit for free usage and only just over 380 days retention
which means you can download files which have been uploaded a year ago at most
next you need a Client
since you are a newbie i will recommend you UNZBin
it is simple intuitive (resembles uTorrent) and does the job beautifully
or you can try SabNZBD+ the best newsgroup client available
though there might be a learning curve involved
Lastly you need some place to download those NZB files from(NZB is to newsgroups as .torrent files are to Bittorrent)
Personally i like FilesharingTalk.com
it is a forum where you need to register to gain access to their NZB database
you can check out NZBsrus and NZBclub too
That's all you need to get started right now
in the next phase of this tutorial(2-3 weeks from now) i will introduce two new softwares that will come in handy
QuickPar and NZB Completion Checker
Quickpar helps repair an incomplete download
NZBCC checks whether the file in question is indexed fully at your Provider before the downloading begins

my guide is just a newbie friendly and somewhat incomplete version when compared to those guides
