@op will hijack your thread for few queries :P

@Fahrenheit how many devices u have hooked up to the router.
how is the interference if there is wall in between.
Is there any frequent disconnection because of router.

I'm looking for a similar setup.

devices 1 - lappy(G),Ipad2(N) and desktop via LAN.

As promised, attached a screenshot. Which other screens do u want me to capture?
Its good if you can make a short review of the router. Many people are interested in it because of the price and they have many doubts regarding the router like range, ease of setup and connectivity

From what i've read online if a G device is connected to the router and if an N device tries to connect, either the N device connects or the G device connects, both of them don't.

I dont have an N device, so cant verify this fact. I've tried 5 different G devices at the same time though. Works flawlessly. 2 laptops, 1 desktop, 1 mobile and a PS3.

^ thanks for the info. Anyways I am getting this router this month and going to use it for home and college. Read that its small and good for travel also. Going to use the router for laptop, zte blade and goflex net

Hey guys

Thanks for the inputs. i am more clear now, but since the price of N150 is well within my reach and since it supports G as well, i guess i can go ahead with one.

Had one more doubt. i am planning to use this with BSNL connection. some friend told me that BSNL modems come with pre-loaded configuration and non BSNL modems will have tough time connecting !!

So is there any specific configuration i need to keep in mind to make my new modem work with BSNL connection ?

i am aware of VPI/VCI settings and my login details.

But is there anything else ? My common sense tells me that i need to let the router know the next hop IP address(BSNL gateways ?) and unless i do that it wont work

Login Details .. VCI/VPI and the baud rate has to be set.. that is all.

Remaining setting are for NAT and Firewalls.

BSNL or any other ADSL connection have similar setup.

but you will still need a BSNL ADSL modem to use the broadband .. you can extend the same connection by connecting the N150 to it though ethenet.

Phone Line --(RJ11)--> Splitter --(RJ11)--> ADLS 2+ Modem --(RJ45)--> N150 Access Point = =(Wifi)= = = > Laptop

Can you please explain why ? Will i not be able to use a external modem like belkin, netgear or dlink with BSNL connection ?

In that case i can as well go for a normal wifi router and hook it to my BSNL modem and save money.

I am not convinced that only BSNL modems can connect to BSNL network.(plus they dont have stock of wifi modems!!)

they blame your router in case of any issue.

for bsnl provided adsl modem,at least they bother to have a look.

but if you have your own modem router whatever,

they simply blame it on you.

Saw a friends setup with a dlink modem router directly working with BSNL, so now i am confident to buy a ADSL2+router than going for a messy BSNL modem + wireless router solution.

It would be great if some one can recommend among the following modems

1. Dlink 2730u (N150)

2. Netgear DGN1000N

3. TP-Link W8950

4. Digisol 4011N

5. Belkin seem to have series like (basic/surf/share) i dont know which is better.

These are the models i could see in 2000 rs range. and brands like linksys are on a higher(2500+) side.

Editing:

And i also saw an ebay listing for Beetel 450TC1, for about 1250. this is a G modem router. but then should be more than enough for my browsing needs. So again confused if N is really worth it ?

please provide feedback on this beetel modem as well(looks so much like a typical BSNL stuff)

same query..i also need wifi router cum adsl modem for bsnl broadband

I have ordered Beetel 450 BX1 from ebay since i found that to be the cheapest available ADSL2+ G router.

Did some homework about other modems too, but what i found out is that wireless N is useful only if your devices support N and also the more bandwidth of 150M is still not enough for streaming HD videos or fire sharing(for that you would require N+ 300M and above)

So decided to save some money and also go for a modem for a uncluttered way of managing too many cables

Errrm dude, I don't think that'd be the case. I am sure lot of folks have devices with both the protocols.

Although I have several devices lying around which has wifi connectivity, I only intend to connect my iPad 2 (802.11 a/b/g/n) and the netbook (802.11b/g) with the router. Let us hope with some tinkering, we get this right. :ashamed:

I'll post back the results once done. In the meantime, how do you deal with disconnectivity from the Reliance connection?

^ i bought this router and no problem of that kind so far...

I use my blade(G) and laptop(N) on it no problems ever experienced

Glad to hear that. And many thanks for the quick response! :)

What net connection do you have btw?

when i bought it i am on BSNL UL 750 at home

AFter coming to college i first used for BSNL 3G with Laptop as gateway.

Now on college LAN and sometimes Mblaze for torrents.

I use Laptop, Blade, GoflexNet over this.....Its on 24 x 7.

Its supereasy to configure whatever mode it be.... gives 10-15 feet range.. and a best buy for less than 1K
