Sorry for asking too many questions :P but is my bank gonna charge anything as this is going to be an international transaction?

So if i use my axis bank visa debit card then the total Amount that i would have to pay would be 10$ = Rs. 460 rite?

Well here's the thing, If your debit card (Axis bank or any other international debit card with VISA/MASTERCARD etc logo) uses 3D secure authentication then you will not be able complete the transaction. Here 3D secure means something like Verified by Visa authentication which is not enabled on Steam because Steam is a non-compliant merchant.

But Steam allows me to purchase games with my Axis bank International debit card with Master Card logo since i haven't yet activated the Master Card secure code on my card.

Have look here,

I will tell a different experience of mine in this regard which i encountered in the morning when i wanted to purchase Bioshock from Steam.

Axis Bank recently announced a special deal of Rs.50/- cash back (on purchases of above Rs.500/-) on their e-wallet card. E-Wallet card is a feature for Axis Bank net banking customers which enables you to create a virtual International Visa debit card, with 48 hours validity, 3-digit CVV2 authentication code and a VBV(verified by visa) password. So i went ahead and created one and tried to use it for my purchase on steam hoping to get double benefits. But the transaction didn't go through, and i bought the game using the physical card(with Master card logo) issued by the bank.

I have another International debit card of a different bank with VISA logo and VBV authenticated which was also not accepted by Steam.

You can try your luck once.

Well, buying the hard retail copy will save you a huge download.

My dvd writer doesn't work properly anymore... :(

Has anyone on TE tried buying a game through visa debit card? :( or bought a game in the past?

And what about amazon? Can i use my debit card to buy this game from amazon?

Alternatively you can try creating a PAYPAL account linking your online banking account for online purchases, but it may 3 to 4 days to verify your bank account and then here again your Visa card is unusable as far as PP is concerned.

I will get physical copy right? I dont need it as it wont be of any use to me as my dvd writer is not working properly... I want to buy a digital copy only...
If your card doesn't work, and you have no option, buy it from flipkart / nextworld, use the CD-key and activate the game on EA Origin, you'll get a digital download that way :)

Guys don't forget to count the electricity bill from leaving your computer on from downloading the entire BFBC2, Vietnam Expansion pack and Gun pack :P. If you have a really fast internet connection then go for it.

Else buy the physical copy instead of leaving your computer on for half week.

Guys i thought of getting the BFBC2 Vietnam Pack .

but Steam says ( Your transaction failed because you are trying to buy a game that requires ownership of another game you do not currently own. Please correct the error and try again. )

I own BFBC 2 Physical disk its installed in my PC, but i didn get it from STEAM. So is there any Place where i can buy VIETNAM ? EA India is outta stock :@ ...

Guys, finally bought the game by using my Axis Bank Visa Debit Card... :D This is the first game that i have bought online and the only game that i have ever bought... I have been a pirate ever since my birth... :P

Thanks guys for helping me out... :)

Yeah I did Mastercard I think. From STEAM itself. It's a pretty easy process, like 1 minute.

Congratulations Hades. My VISA Debit card has 3D secure password too but it worked without any problem on steam. I immediately got the SMS on my phone too about the money being deducted. Their Exchange price is Rs 46/- per $.

@Hades, Congrats man and have a blast. Your success gives me hopes for my future endeavor.

@Baccilus, Again that's great news, i think i' m going to try using the Axis Bank e-wallet card once again.

Oh i forgot to mention :P that i bought this game along with vietnam pack from steam for 10$ only and now i think the Badcompany 2 Pack for 10$ deal is over... People who want to buy this game can buy it from amazon for 5$
