The Bayonetta thread!
I did not find another thread for this title, so here goes nothing!
Got hold of the game yesterday and completed the prologue, chapter 1 & 2. By far it has been pretty good for a game coming from the same developers behind Devil May Cry series. The combat system is essentially the same with the witch able to do a variety of combos combining pistols and other weapons. There are execution moves such as a torture attack akin to the fatality in the Mortal Kombat to finish an opponent. Bayonetta at this point can summon a variety of devices such as the iron maiden and kick the opponent to it!
There are boss battles throughout the campaign wherein the big ass bosses keeps spawning at any point of the game and not necessarily at the end of each level. Boss battles mostly end with a finishing move wherein Bayonetta transforms her hair into a monster or a giant fist which would assault the opponent!
Level design is pretty good although not as good as GOW 3 or the likes. Cinematics have a very poor rendering - absolutely horrid AA. Although the game's native resolution is 720p, at times I did feel that the upscaling done was pretty bad. The AA overall could have been improved.
Anyone else who has completed the game already (I'm pretty sure some of them already did!) can pitch in with their views on the title.
