allright...one question...say some unocks some extra cores in his proccy....or locks down one or two cores and then submits....what will be done to those submission's?

this one directed @ the AMD guys.....

Re: 'BTH' Score Submission - Intel Core i3/C2D

For Mods reference, Superpi doesnt benefit from no. of cores. Its architecture which makes the difference. Should have consulted with Shripad or any other overclocker before creating the categories. C2Q should be in this thread alongwith C2D. Checking other categories as well, if Mods would take the suggestion.

Re: 'BTH' Score Submission - Intel Core i3/C2D

^ does it mean that a wolfdale will definitely beat a conroe :(

^^^its not the question whether i would do that or not.....its possible fro someone with an golden quad chip to win all the classes just by locking the cores....as the results of three runs would be pretty much same as SUPERPI is not dependent on no of cores....on that note also i would like to point that the CPU classifications are erroneous as superpi benefits from architecture...not number of cores

suggesting a reshuffle of CPU class

Re: 'BTH' Score Submission - Intel Core i3/C2D

not exactly.....but an i3 would beat the pants off of an c2q or c2d...........

^^One user can win only in one class and not all classes from what i read in the rules. So even if one does what you mention and emerges a topper in all three classes, still he will be given prize of only one of those and the 2nd topper will be chosen for other two classes.

@Mods

Please rectify my understanding if there is anything wrong in it.

^damn leave the prize, who cares about that, its fun in participating the competition :)

Well your point do have a sense

i know....but why give them chances???

anyway there are more serious issues at hand right now regarding the CPU class structure.....

I am also not concerned about the prize. Just explaining the scenario to decide the winner. Btw with the killer config i have, i am sure i will emerge as the ultimate winner (in Underclock competition :P)

I actually want to request the mods to start another competition after this for the most underclocked / ancient type PCs. Netbooks may not be allowed to participate (may be you can say that processors like atom etc are not applicable). I dont have much knowledge about processors and all.

^Had a old desktop which i donated to someone. It had a 256 MB RAM, 20GB HDD, Pentium 4 proccy, no CPU and all.

Btw current laptop is AMD Athlon X2 dual core 1.90Ghz with 2GB RAM and ATI Radeon 3100 graphics (does this mean GPU ??)

Re: 'BTH' Score Submission - Intel Core i3/C2D

Bah why is Core i3 with C2D ?

Does C2D also include C2Q !

Re: 'BTH' Score Submission - Intel Core i7/i5/C2Q

How can a C2Q be with i5 and i7s ...this is really hilarious :(
There should be a seperate category for Pentium Dual Core (E-series), C2D and C2Q ! Super Pi doesn't understand no of cores present !

with a little bit of luck you can use Clockkgen with your setup......

try it man.....

for starters enable the high performance plan in Power plans and then bench.....

its all about takin part :)
