Do you guys think we need a new thread for shaming people(anonymously)? People need to, 1 realise their behaviour is wrong and 2 face a bit of shaming for thier lack of manners and sense. Also, the entitled lot need to be brought back to the ground from the clouds they are on.

Buddy, basis the replies here..I feel there is already negativity festering. My intention was to help people realise this is a community where a bit of kindness and respect is small ask and expectation and that they should change their ways. Hence I said 'annonymous'.
People keep saying 'lets not make TE another Erodov or OLX' but if this kind of behaviour continues it will.

I know and didn't meant to make you look bad, your intentions are good but those people who are doing such things will not change, rather keep grudges against members who support such thread.
There are good and there are bad people, thats community we have to live with it.
I know Erodov became just a market place but it wasn't OLX and there was a time when mods were really helpful and took active participation in handling forum. The reason I had more deals on E then on TE and had really good experience. Also there is no harm if few people comes here just for market, Let it be as we can't force them to be actively involved in Tech section.

Oh absolutely, I too had a good experience with E and have/had no problem with people only coming to the marketplace. I am guilty, to some extent, to that too.
Also, you're right, some people just won't change. It's very hard to tell people the behaviour that they found normal for 20 odd years is actually rude/not acceptable/etc.

I had more deals in a year on E than I had in 14 in TE. It was just very very active. The people were similar but there definitely was more bickering on the threads by people who had zero intentions of buying stuff.
With Reddit, Youtube, etc where people get info much faster forums end up taking a bit of a backseat.

I've learnt one helpful advice when doing giveaways. Price it very low and when deal is done, just say its for free. This keeps all the riff-raff away

For my giveaway, the rules will be: 
1. If more than one person is interested, it is NOT on first come first serve basis.
2. I will select the person basis of:
a. I like/don't like the person (based on his behavior/feedback) on forum. (There are some forum member I would not like to deal with even if they have 100% feedback and I am getting full asking price for my product in my FS thread or I am getting extremely good deal in his FS thread).
b. My experience with the member if I have dealt with before.
c. Who has not low-balled to offer 50-70% of my asking price like a dealer on my FS thread or through PM like a online, "last price", "best price", or "9xxxx shipped to 102103".
d. He has been kind enough to at least reply my PM(s).

This is taking things too far. Giveaway should be for goodwill not an exercise for the ego

There are some people on the forum who deserve even worse. Please ignore my post if you didn't like.
Being thick skinned is important and so is being firm when buying or especially selling.
Selling: I never hold for anyone, ignore lowballers, 1st one to pay me gets it. If you want to buy an item, buy it. Or else you are just wasting mine and your time.
Buying: Give my offer, if they accept pay as soon as possible by upi, neft etc. if the seller is not responsive or fishing for offers, I then ignore the sale. If any seller backtracks or makes excuses after confirming, again ignore.
I only propose 50 - 50 deals ( payment before and after receiving item ) when buying from new members. If they dont accept, fine by me.
Never been conned, rarely loose out on a deal. maybe lost a few buyers with my way of dealing but thats just me

My experience is a bit different than what many have posted.
While I admit I did not trade much on TE in my long association with the forum, I was pleasantly surprised with the experience when I decided to clear out some of my equipment over the last few months .
I found most members to be very courteous, prompt in paying and very understanding when a day or two of delays occurred in shipping in some cases.
And while I did find a few low-ballers/ people who ask you to put things on hold and then disappear etc..
Oh, and also buyers who did not bother to update post item receipt (yes, that can be concerning to the seller also)
but they seem to be more of an exception rather than the norm.
By and large, It has been a nice experience - maybe I have been just plain lucky with the folks I traded with
