Forum Feedback Behavior of TE Members (Gyan Ahead, You have been warned!)

sorry you feel that way. what's the issue?
feedback been working fine, havent seen any report other than the odd double feedback which we correct if we are made aware
Its not about feedback system but the buyer not willing to/ nor caring to leave feedback even after asking him to do so so many times via whatsapp, thread tag and inbox. But simply ignoring or giving lame excuses.
Not that its some banking reward point system or the feedback counts towards ones Cibil record but adhering to a process is what I believe in.

The buyer was happy to flex and compare his trading nos. with mine and asked to deal on his terms, dealing methodologies and experiences etc.
More to add, the buyer is some well-known popular personality in his town asked me too google as well, well if personalities behave this way then I got no words.
And in the end he says if I'm desperate he will leave a feedback? Well what language or logic is this? I'm not asking for his kidneys right? And if he doesn't wants to I'm completely fine but he should be upfront.

I even tagged Crazy_Eddy in my sale thread as well as pmed him but nothing. Yes I do understand everyone is busy and I dont believe in bugging people twice/thrice (nor I do it) unless its that urgent!

Now, been more than a month now I dont care now/ yes have given up. But just wanted to bring to mods notice as to whats happening and in-spite of tagging nothing was done both by mods and the buyer.
This issue will at least ensure that other members do not suffer on similar part.

I don't think feedback should or can be enforced. I Have never asked for feedback and in over 50% of my sales I was not given any feedback. I think that is completely okay.
Mod's really can't be bothered about it as I'm sure they have enough on thier plates as is. I would say just accept that some people just don't care about it as much and theres not much aside from not dealing with them in the future that you can do about it. (unless of course you can influence public discourse on the forum enough to get the mods to make the feedback system mandatory)

Of course its a personal choice but if some famous personality claims to be so much precise in dealing (judging on his ranking/numbers) and showing-off then is this how/what they follow is my question. And an ideal deal involves (buying/selling/paying/shipping/testing/leaving feedback)
Also, what if a new member falls in such situation? Feedback rating is a must for him to up his trade ratings for future deals.

Not to mention, just like we look for amazon seller ratings or any dealer ratings outside forums, feedback ratings here as well are of utmost importance based one which one can judge and feel safe and establish trust while dealing with someone esp. when we are recently seeing so much frauds etc.

I agree that feedback is not something to be enforced, but given the above statement, it surely does become important. I have seen people with high trader rating not bothering about feedback. Everyone thinks twice to pay a huge amount of money to a person with a minimal feedback count, even on a forum like TE. Surely these people who take long to give feedback are the ones who never suffered people asking them to ship first because their feedback count is low.

just like other members have pointed out, feedback is optional if someone wants to give or not. we cant enforce it.
Politely asking once is fine but if the person doesnt want to act on it, cant help it other than moving on

I feel that a basic courtsey is expected in a forum like TE where civilised people interact. But should we still be curtious to those who have been anything but polite with us? I feel we should name and shame them. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Agree, but as highlighted about his bragging, if someone says he is very professional and proficient, then where does this behavior goes at the end & why leave it halfway?
Anyways, as said I hardly care just wanted to bring it to your notice.

When I was trying to sell my Mac Mini, I got a message from a person expressing interest. Then he didn't respond for 2 days during which I sent two messages. Then he said he was interested but caught up with work and would like to talk on Saturday (it was Wednesday). I said ok. Then sent a follow-up on Saturday. No response. Sent another follow-up on Sunday morning. No response. Later in the evening I sent a message saying if he didn't respond by EOD, I'd consider the deal off. Then he replied saying "I guess I missed it".

I absolutely abhor this kind of behavior. It's way better to just tell the person that you're no longer interested as and when you decide not to but. Just a 4-5 word message is better than going silent.
Don't hold for more than 24 hrs. You can do 36-48 hrs max if the person on the other end sounds desperate and if there's no further communication from his side you can move along to the next potential buyer. Time is money.

Report his PM.

I say, never hold for anyone. And as a buyer don't ask to hold. It's a bad practice. Railway ka seat hai kya? Gimme the money or move aside. As a seller, initial couple of hours are your best bet to sell off your item. Don't ruin that period by holding on to the product for anyone.

Also if someone doesn't complete the transaction after sharing the payment details and address then there should be infraction against their accounts.

I've seen some weird calls (very rare) coming to my number with either no response when picking up or response like "kaha rehta h tu, tere se kaam h" and when asking for their identity they don't say anything.
I'm not saying the source of that is this community's members but I've never shared my number elsewhere outside of my contacts (less than 30) and here. So I do suspect some members of this.

I do want to post one such number not sure if this is the place for it.

I recently posted a sale thread of a smartphone.
A Member contacts me and asks for 'best price' instead of offering. He had joined here on 2014 btw. I respect each and every members but a little bit more who are here from a long long time.

Is it ok that i am little pissed to this OR is it just me and i should calm myself down?

I think its normal to negotiate, its a usual buyer thing aka nature and age, designation, cadre has nothing to do about it. But best price is still a bit annoying..

Even many have faced this issue where seller receive pms to buy all items by a single member and obviously he will be getting top priority and the very next day this member is most wanted or he backs out. Never ever get to know whats cooking in their minds or they are simply interested to spoil someones sale!
And due to this other buyers are either put on hold or rejected and followed-up, then these very buyers act pricey and do all nakhras..

i dont get the concept of asking for 'best price' tbh. this is just trying to negotiate without knowing how to.
negotiation without a counter offer is just dumb. the seller has already put a price on the thread, no one is going to shoot themselves in the foot and say just for you because you're special and you asked for best price in DM, i'm going to cut the asking by 10%.

Definitely a reseller trying to score, so that he can sell it for 20K.

It's a common thing no matter the marketplace. I do occasionally ask similar things like what'll be the final price the seller is willing to let it go if i think the item is priced higher. That way I'll know if the seller can come to the price range that i have in mind for that item instead of me offering something that the seller might feel is lowballing. Just reply politely say that you're not looking to sell it that low and move on. It'll save your time and peace of mind.

'Best price' doesn't make sense to me either, I guess they mean they're looking to negotiate.
However offering 12k is low-balling territory and usually given a warning in the market section. Report his PM.

Troubling to hear. Are you wanting to post the number to see if someone on the forum recognises it?
Try reporting the number to TRAI's DND complaint system.
