Hi, I need help.

I transferred 1250/- to jeff for a item posted by him on this thread http://www.techenclave.com/cpu-mobo-and-ram/transcend-2gb-jetram-667mhz-for-lappy-176833.html. After transferring the money, the guy didn't respond for 2 days and taking help of some other members I was able to get his number and talk to him. I made it clear that he should send the item the same day using dtdc+ and he agreed. Sadly he didn't reply me with shipping details at all and stopped taking calls and responding to mails after that. After calling, sending 10s of sms and mails, he has today sent me a sms with shipping details which are fake and dtdc doesn't know the consignment number.

Can somebody help me with this situation.

Sanjeev

DTDC takes a while before they update the details of the consignment. Have patience. If he passed you the docket number instantly, it does not mean the DTDC personnel updates the same on their database instantly.

^^ Yes, sometime back I bought something from Delhi and when I checked the next day also the number was showing as invalid.

Only when I got the package at the end of the day did DTDC update their portal with shipping information. :P

Check again with DTDC at the end of the day.

I think buyers also need to be a bit patient :)....a week(5 working days) is a good time frame by which the item should be shipped and max say within 10 days the item should reach the buyer. Sometimes buyers expect the item to be shipped same day as payment is realized ! If someone is so impatient then he needs to run and buy it from the market instead :P

Though its totally irresponsible not to take calls/sms for days altogether :P

^Totally! All the 100+ odd buyers I have dealt with by far have been very patient. If there is an inevitable delay from my side, I ensure that I tell them beforehand rather than see a feedback thread here. :ashamed: :P

Agreed, but the seller must respond to the buyer regarding the deal. In this case the seller didn't respond to the buyer for 48 hours even after receiving the payment.
If members in acts in this way then the buyers will not feel safe to deal with any other member.

Well if you check the thread in question.

Payment was made on 22nd .....and the item was confirmed to be shipped via DTDC Plus on 24th ! May be the seller didn't communicate well in those 2 days. I guess the OP called on 23rd and expectedthe item to be shipped out same day as payment is received. Also its a well known fact that DTDC tracking most of the time does not work for the 1st 24 hours. and the seller has a perfect a very good iTrader feedback as well. And I am sure since its sent via dtdc plus the buyer will get within tmr or day after...thats like 5 days from payment...item is received....Its not very nice also to call someone 20-30 times just because I paid him for an item 24-36 hours back....a lot of ppl of us are working and cant take calls in the workign hours in some days due to obvious reasons..Whereas the buyer seems to be a new to online buying/selling from unknown persons and he his getting goosebumps that his money is lost ...cmon I dont like the impatient ones at all :P

Most of the newbies are so scared that their money will be gone...mainly the impatient age-groups :P....actually we should stop selling to them...just joking

^^hey mate don't get offended with my post, its nothing personal.
Now dont say that you dont want to sell goods to me in future:)

here the buyer felt that given DTDC tracking number is fake hence started this thread

he is not aware of the time taken by DTDC to put new tracking number on their site !!

sometimes it takes time for packaging also.. 5 working days should allowed by the buyer to ship...though i try to ship as soon as the payment is realised but everytime its not possibile...sometimes the couriers guy doesnt show up so ....

@sanjeevgpc dont worry tracking no gets updated after 12am.. please have patience..

^^^ yeap 5 days is OK , but the seller must notify the buyer regarding this (especially the newbies ;))

I would ask the buyer to do everyone a favour and stop dealing in forum market
If you cant wait for a couple of days after payment, then you got no business dealing here.

Thanks for all the comments. Here are some facts which I want to bring into notice. Actually My laptop ram went bad and i wanted to buy one immediately. I just saw a sale thread and contacted the seller. I made clear that Please ship today itself by dtdc + service so I can receive with flight service in a day and he agreed. The seller didn't respond for 2 days after that even when I called him and SMSed him. As there was no reply from seller, I had to buy the required ram from market which has resulted in double cost to me.

Is that wrong if I expected seller to communicate to me?

Is it not duty of seller to pick call or call back when he sees there are missed calls?

My frustration is result of no reply from seller and dual cost of buying the item. A proper communication would have solved many of the issues for everybody. And yes I also work but have made sure to communicate in time to my buyers all the time

----------

At last seller has responded to one sms and according to him he has shipped the item 48 hrs back and it will take 3 days in delivery from shipping. I cant believe that dtdc has not updated the records in 48 hrs and the shipping takes 2 days. The shipping is from kerala to karnataka and with plus service it takes overnight.

----------

Please understand a buyers point of view. We all are hear to deal with each other and responsibility lies with both the parties.

If I am totally wrong, my sincere apologies to both the community and the seller but if I am not totally wrong than I request the comments like one given by "Spectre" be avoided.

The point is, if you require something urgently and it was critical to you, you could have gone to a shop and bought it
Most people here work or attend college and most courier companies dont take orders after 6PM. So there is going to be delay during weekdays as they have to find time during their work schedule to visit couriers wallas.
What if the courier company delayed it, will you go and fight with them.
Its not a duty of a seller to keep responding to your persistent calls and SMS, just becuase you paid money. I can understand if the seller went AWOL, but it is just less than 48 hrs.
You could have left a PM to the seller and waited.

You dont have patience at all. Also why did you publish his real name and phone number over internet, did u get his permission before you did that, considering seller is no fraud (assuming product is shipped)

@OP---Plz edit out nos in the 1st post...I dunno how u ordered a item from TE when u expected the item to reach u in less than 24 hours just beacuse ur laptop is dead. Even if I ship a stuff within Bangalore it gets delivered next day evening only after more than 24 hours of being shipped !

this is wat my college friends have to say " arre online sab chor hai, sab nakli maal milta hai online "

they do not know wat is online shopping and they cant believe when i tell them i have made purchases over lacs online :P

I just saw this thread now. It's sorta wierd to see my phone number published here though. I have already notified the buyer that I can't take phone calls while in labs and lectures. As per the request of the buyer, I sent it through dtdc plus and was only able to notify the buyer the consignment code today. Dtdc hasn't updated the site and the buyer instantly accuses me of fraud saying he's gonna catch me. All I know is that dtdc had some road problems yesterday.

Also I'm not always available for communication as phone calls aren't allowed in labs, lecture halls or study halls.

Ok guys its time to cool off, @sanjeevgpc just apologize to jeffrain123 and next time just keep patience and think twice before starting a negative thread in the Market Feedback section

:) All is Well guys :)

I have already asked for apology if I was too impatient but I am sure Jeff should feel the same. Jeff are you sure there was no mistake from your side?

-You SMSed me regarding your phone problems today.

-You promised me sending consignment number but you didnt.

-You seem to have booked the item today Thursday, November 25, 2010.

Think over.

And yes I was wrong in posting the phone number online. Do not take this to your heart. The idea behind the thread was to find somebody who can help me in contacting you.

Guys am still confused why people have used works like newbie, chor etc etc in this forum. Did i ever say that Jeff has cheated me on this thread? We including me can be more polite and choosy in our language.

I too have purchased goods worth lakhs on internet and I am not in the age group as somebody has wrote ;-). Was thinking who would be the most senior member on internet :-).

Hopefully Jeff will call me and I would request him to take the item back if possible.

Can we close this thread...............
