Laptops Benefit in buying laptop from Singapore?

I am unsure if this thread is the right thread to post. :S

My question is: is there a difference - significant(more than 5k) or slight(more than 2k) or insignificant(less than 2k) when we buy a laptop from Singapore (i have HP, ASUS, Acer, Dell in my mind). I will be in Singapore next month. The configuration that i have in mind is a decent gaming rig!

Also, will the same be the case if i buy a mobile (high end) like Dell Venue Pro, SGSII, Nokia X7 from there??

Please advise!!
 
I suppose it would be cheaper compared to Indian pricing. And if you can claim the 7% GST while returning, nothing like it.
 
Yup at the airport :).Have done it a couple of times no hassles what so ever they even returned GST even though the bill of the product had friends name on it.
 
GST refund is super smooth. In fact it was so smooth for me that I didn't even realise I did anything :D Show your GST refund form, along with the items for which you are claiming refund, along with their bill, at the airport, and then drop the stamped form in the adjacent post box. They say it takes upto 7 weeks - I got mine in 2 weeks flat.

Yes there will be a significant difference ! Also , If you are buying Sony Products other than the Laptop then the difference will be more sweeter !
 
thanks a lot guys for your comments and advice!

My issue: I went to Dell Singapore website and configured for myself a Dell XPS with top specs. When i removed the 7% GST and other converted to indian currency it was still costing me 79 K while if i get the same thing configured in India, i will get it for 71 here....any advice how this is happening??
