hmmm..... maybe you need to reinstall the whole n-force drivers??

Why dont you try that?? And of course in a worst case scenario, you could always reinstall XP :P
 
Check for any "Lower" and "Upper" Filters For the CD / DVD Drive in the registry. if any are present , Remove them and try.

This is the log that Alcohol created when the burn process failed.

Where do i look for them in the registry?
 
Try this drive on another known good m/c first...just to confirm whether the drive is in working state and that there is no hardware fault.

this is what i got for the error code 62800....what does 'unit attention' mean?
 
I uninstalled and re-installed Nero....the drive seems to working fine,....have burned 6 discs without any problems
 
Well the DataWrite disc's remaining with are that good....get bad burns always... but the damm thing is atleast burning

Will get some new disc's tomm and posted back
