I have a PC with the following config.

Intel P4 3.0 Ghz HT
Intel 915 GAV MOBO
1GB DDR(2*512 MB)
80GB HDD
XFX 6600 Non Gt PCIE(128MB)
CD Writter
DVD Drive
TV Tuner Card
Internal Modem
Web Cam
800 watts Speakers
15" CRT Monitor
422 watts zebronics SMPS
500 VA UPS(velsine)
Now I wants to upgrade my Monitor to 17" CRT Monitor ,UPS to 800VA UPS and CD writer to DVD writter(BENQ).
1)Please help me to get the best 17" Monitor and 800VA UPS.
2)I wants to buy Benq Dw 1640 DVD writter.Is it available in Chennai or Madurai.Please tell me about the dealer.
3) Please tell me the performance of Microtek 800VA Double Battery UPS.

The price was 2.9k when i last enquired.
 
I bought 2 BenQ 1640 dvd-writers around 3 weeks back for Rs.2800 each.
Bargain and i think you can get it for Rs.2700 or less..
At Ritchie street, check out Raheja complex, Enter it from inside Ritchie street and go inside (beyond Soneco India..), theres a shop on the right (sorry i cant recall the shop name..). They offer the best price (to my knowledge) for DVD writers..

No Probs.. But argue with the shop-keeper guy and stick to the price.

Actually thats from an excellent song called 'Passion' by The Flirts, released in ~1982 which was one of the inspirations for my fav band the Pet Shop Boys..
 
Its pretty good man... am using one, never checked how much backup time i got but its over 20mins for sure with 17inch monitor. I bought it for Rs.2200/-. Only thing is it doesn't have any monitoring softwares unlike APC, etc...

ive had a very bad time with it :( in less than a year ive faced so many problems that i had to get it replaced twice (yes) under warranty. and whats worse, their service just sux!! no matter how many calls you make, they will not come to the site for maintenance. you will have to carry it to their office in ritchie st for any issue

so for their poor service, stay away from it!!
 
^^ Damn i dint know that....:( as of now there is no problem... But from ur View if anything happens then i am screwed... Who will take it to ritchie St.... Man its damn heavy.
