its 3200 boxed here in HYD...but the thing is, if u take it black, its nothing but a powdercoated white one...so both the logo and the led get covered

Not my BENQ drive - the marking is there as well as the LED window is clear - I understand that the OEM version of this drive does not have any marking on the front panel.

BUT ... my new LiteON DVD-ROM drive came in the condition you described - no markings and the LED window was painted over - I opened the drive and scrapped off the paint from the window from both ends. Wherever the screw driver touched the drive the black colour came off :O

Yesterday I was quoted 2900/- all inclusinve at Lamington road - Mumbai. Did not ask so I will presume this is for the white model - I think the black model costs about 50/- more.
