Need a 22" lcd for my new config. There are lots of options available which is confusing me, so please suggest.

Current config:
Phenom II 550BE
GA-MA785GMT-UD2H
No GPU

Usage:
Browsing, movies, PDFs and light gaming (really light)

Have the foll models in mind:
G2200HD
E2200HD
2233SW
Dell S2209W
any other?

Pls suggest the best for around 9k range

Im fully satisfied with my g2220HD. I found it slightly better than sammy 2233sw. Also benq comes with dvi cable bundled, but sammy doesnt. ALso 2233 has considerable backlight bleeding.

Havnt seen the dell s2209 in real, so dunno if its better.

E2200HD is nothin but g2220HD with hdmi.

Both g2220 and e2200 has same panel and everythin [ofcourse exterior design is different], except the e2200HD has HDMI and costs around 10.6k and not worth if you do not plan on connecting it to a X360/PS3.

I have a Samsung 2233sw and it absolutely rocks. Best looking of the lot, too. the only drawback is no hdmi.

But I don't think your current graphics will do full justice to these monitors.

Dell 2209W >Benq E2200HD. frankly dunno abt the sammy. Go with the benq if u want hdmi, but the dell edges it (not that much difference thought) in pic quality

thanks for the replies guys

But can anyone throw some light on the prices of these models?

also what is the cost of a DVI cable? (if I go for samsung)

how bad will the display be w/o a gpu? Coz i'll be adding a gpu only after 3-4 months.

Ur Integrated gfx Ati hd 4200 will support resolution upto 1920x1200.

No such difference on desktop .

I got the Samsung 2233sw for 8900 (+ a crappy reebok watch free) last month.

DVI cable's for around 350-400 bucks

The display won't be BAD; just won't play games at higher resolution; also Full HD movies might be beyond its scope.

The cost of dvi cable in Mumbai, lamington road is 200 bucks.

well I had bought the Dell S2209W for 9.2K incl VAT back in July. Must be lesser now. Btw, it comes bundled with the DVI cable, so no extra expense there.

I'd say all these monitors are very similar and very close to your 9K mark (+ or - 500/- ) You cant go wrong with any of these.

Sorry for asking this so late, but don't you all think that a 22 incher will be a bit too much for my usage? I have never used a 22 inch or for that matter a 20 inch before, so don't really know how big its gonna be. :P I asked about 22 inchers because the price difference between a 22 and 20 inch was only ~1k.
But my primary doubt is: will the text be clear and readable when viewing two PDF/doc/browser windows side by side? And does small (size) clips like youtube vids look $hit on such a big screen?
