Which is the best 500gb HD out there?

I will be using it mainly for storing games and downloading torrents.

I want good speed,reliability and low noise..

Does 32mb cache really make a difference??

Pls help........

As suggested by other members go for Western Digital Caviar Black / Blue series. WD known for making reliable,low noise,runs cooler and good transfer rates. In real there wont be any significant performance difference between HDD having 16Mb /32Mb cache.
Further plus point with Western Digital HDD in India is 5 years of warranty.
In 500GB WD you can get these model.
1. WD Caviar Blue WD5000AAKS (WD 640GB AAKS with little extra cash like 700/- more would be better option)
2. WD Caviar Black WD5001AALS.
 
price to performance wise go for seagate 7200.12 500GB. WD green in same price tag performs at 30-40MBps slower at average data transfer speed.

if it going to be just a data storage drive then go for whatever that you are comfortable with...preferably cheaper one.
