avira is an excellent free av. it does not have an email scanner in the free version however. so if you use outlook etc. get the free version of avast! which is extremely good as well.

Kaspersky is good.Norton 2009 versions are awesome and does not use much resources.Also BiDefender is a very good and light antivirus.It ill cost you about 450.If you want free one's then use Avira,Bitdefender free edition or Avast.My experience with AVG has not been good so I can't recommend it.

I've used KIS, NOD 32 and Bitdefender Internet Security.

All licensed.

KIS is resource hog but does its job quitw well. I like it.

Also Bitdefender Internet Security is very good.

I use avg 8.5 free edition, very easy 2 use, i personaly never had ny problems with it n also it uses less ram than ny other antivirus available.

+1 for Kaspersky...........i use Kaspersky Internet security 2009.........licensed version.............if its free antivirus that u want.........then u can also go Avast Home Edition.........

plz dont buy KIS 2009 online...they will charge u like hell...last time i tried that and they were quoting a whopping Rs4000 bux....for one use license version......its better to buy it from a distributor...may be u can go to http://www.primeabgb.com and then try....they will charge less.......
