i guess getting a windows phone will be more practical as it is more user friendly and i guess ur mom wont be much into apps. So get her omnia w.

If u are hell bent on android then u can opt for mini or mini pro depending upon her texting needs. She may appreciate the white color also and the fones are gud on spec sheet.

P.S : i gifted my gf mini wen the fone released and she is in love with tht.

Hi #[member='kb.tendulkar'],

You can consider the following options:

- Nokia 710: arnd 13k (AFAIK you can extend its warranty by a year )

- Samsung Omnia W: arnd 15k.

Your mother will like the sense and simplicity of WP7 any day over other OS except for that Bluetooth transfer limitation.

Hope this helps.

Maybe some WP7 user can reply to that question better as I have not used WP7 on a daily basis so I don't know if there are other ways to source those apps like in Android.

HTC G1 is also a good option. Though it has the older Android version it may not matter. It is available for around 6K

i guess its not a bar phone..

BUT THE price is good..

any other phone plz reply..

I think the following options are good:

1. HTC Explorer @ 9k

2. Samsung Omnia W @ 15.2k

1)HTC explorer has battery problem.. 1250mAh... so i guess Optimus Would be great here..

2) Ominia -- out of budget..

i can stretch upto 14k max..

What exactly you mean by this ? You talking about installing *ahem* apps ? That can be done in Windows Mobile too
tongu23e.gif

i mean in android phones we have android market and many apps are free to download..

so is it possible in windows ?

Yes it is.

-You have Windows Marketplace where you can buy apps

-OR you can always pirate

i cant spend money for apps..

2nd pref. Xperia Mini Pro

3rd Pref: Sony Ericsson Walkman( need review on this)

4th Pref: Samsung ACE ( need review on this)

5th Pref: Optimus Net

windows phones are good but i guess apps are not free..

so if apps are free then i ll definitely buy..

reply

there are plenty of windows apps that are free.

i recommended windows 7 because its more stable and your mom will go through lesser hassle then she would if she had a droid. Also the usability and features are more easily accessible in windows 7 since it has a fairly simple ui.

If 14k is your magic figure then go for Nokia 710 it'll be in your budget.

But if you still don't want to buy a WP check out Defy / Defy plus with an eBay discount coupon its better than the others in this price range.

Hope this helps.
