News Bento offers a sleek blue and white color combo look that fill in your entire display when the app is active. Easily add any RSS feed from the web. The app allows you to subscribe to news feeds from across the web.
Pulse News
Users with smartphones and tablets must already be aware of the excellent Pulse News app. What Pulse offers is a huge pool of sources to choose from and set your different pages. This way you can name different pages such as Multimedia or News or Movies or even Jokes so that you only browse the genre of content you want to.
The app however is very limited on Windows, as of now.

Slacker Radio
Although Microsoft's built in Music app offers you 6 months of unlimited free music (not if you're using a pirated version! be gone you pirates
), Slacker Radio is an excellent alternative that provides tons of quality music stations and is ad-funded.
There are 200 plus stations available via the Slacker Radio app which should satisfy people of almost every genre (lovers). The app has adapted the Metro or Modern (as Microsoft now calls it) UI pretty well. A $10 a month subscription opens up to music on demand, however whether that feature is available in India is not confirmed.

IM+
Although the Windows 8 Messaging app is pretty functional (mark the use of the word, functional), IM+ is the app to go for if you want to use multiple services such as Google Talk, Yahoo Messenger, AIM, ICQ or even Jabber. Facebook and Windows Messenger support is present as well.
Pop up notifications notify you of any message from any of your signed in services/accounts.

Skype is a must have app for every Windows 8 device. Arguably the best Internet Video Calling software, Skype has undergone a lot of (positive) changes after being acquired by Microsoft. These changes are only great and the app integrates into Microsoft's built in People Hub.
Skype can exist in your Live Tiles as well providing you with Real-Time notifications or just those of a missed call or message.
