Hey ppl,
i want to fill my 1 GB card of my N70 ME (the music quality of which i found to be surprisingly mediocre) with as many songs as possible which will sound good(crisp, clear etc.u get it rite? :D )
My music collection will basically consist of Rock in case that will make ne difference..I am using the Sony Ericsson W series earphones which is connected to my nokia jack(not comfortable with the nokia one)...and also i also wanted to know as to whether i can keep the shuffle play in the default music player permanently on?

Hmm, given the quality of ur phone is not so great by your own admission and you are the best judge of it.

why dont you try encoding a track you know well at different bitrates and the one with the lowest bitrate that you cannot discern any difference with (compared to those of higher bitrates) is your answer :)

Generally Mp3@128kbps is equal to AAC@64kbps so you could use aac to store more music within the same space

I use 96kbps MP4 format for songs on my mobile and there is very little (if any) sound degradation as compared to mp3 @ 128kbps.

well..another problem i found out after compressing to 112 Kbps AAC was that some song sound awesome even if i am listening to them in the trains..but some are hardly audible even in minimal traffic ....wassupwidat?
