Re: BestBike For First Timers!

I too was a learner and brought a Suzuki GS150.Nice cool bike, riding it since last two months.:)

Re: BestBike For First Timers!

^^ whats the price of the Suzuki on Mumbai roads? and if possible also quote the price for the new pulsar 135LS.

Thanks

Re: BestBike For First Timers!

Thanks you guys for the suggestion!!!

SO which one is better...FZ or GS

Re: BestBike For First Timers!

+1 for FZ . but overall ownership cost will be pretty high becouse of low fuel economy and costlier spares.

Pulsar 150 is also nice . very good balance between power and milage . Only con is there are too many pulsars out there .

Re: BestBike For First Timers!

I have FZ-S.. I started biking via FZ-S met with two accidents due to disc brake when I was new I pressed it too hard lol so make sure first learnt o handle disc in any bike..

FZ is the definately one of the best in that price range..

only bike that comes near FZ is Apache 180... get any one of them they both are the best..

my vote goes for FZ I have it and I know how mind blowing it is :D

Re: BestBike For First Timers!

For budget below 60 : Go for Pulsar 135LS , its getting good reviews ...

FZ is good but I feel its slightly overpriced ...

And if u can stretch ur budget lil above 70 then go for Pulsar 220, most VFM bike out there...

And there isnt any thing like u should first ride 100cc then 150cc thn 200cc ... Infact bigger bikes handle well and its easy to learn on thm ...

Peace

@OP.. How much experience you have? which bike you have ridden? What did you feel? For first timers(less then 6 month experience), even a 125 CC will feel very good to ride. :) But if you are a type of guy who likes performance, have intention of going out for a long rides(more then 50km in a stretch), then I would surly advise you to go to Min 150CC. Starting with a 150CC is not a Bad idea if you can keep your cool for sometime on road until you get a hold of your bike very well(well it matters, even if you go for a 100cc too). Eventually after some months even 150 won't suffice :P

Pick any 150cc which you like most, It doesn't matter what you buy, you will like it. :), you will learn to handle it.

^Honda CBF Stunner? :)

May i say Yamaha RX100? :P

Pick up a used one in ok condition and when confident enough to upgrade, sell it for almost as much as you got it for and upgrade to a new ride. :)

If you like Pulsar 135 looks wise than go for it, it is very good performer as good as some 150cc machines. Though there is nothing like big bike or small bike for starters but still you should choose the best performer. Test ride all the bikes mentioned in the posts (FZ16 majorly) above and decide yourself. Btw all bikes are good in the range you have mentioned so choose the bike that suits you most.
