Best Broadband Connection for Pune?

Guys which is the latest best BB connection n tariff plan for 24x7 Downloading in Pune....
Max Budget= Rs.1k. Desired budget = Rs. 800
Connection SHOULD BE RELIABLE, No DC PLz!!!!
 
Hathway 256kbps - Rs.730 a month, and if you go for the quarterly plans, then it comes out to be cheaper.

I have had a horrid time with Hathway for the initial 1 year, but must appreciate their service for the past 6 months or so. Really nice.

Dude Pimple Saudagar and Pimpri are way far off man !!!! Anyway TATA is there in Pimple Saudagar. Give it a shot !!
 
Reliance Wired broadband is pretty good. Decent plans, 24/7 connectivity + 1:1 download/upload ratio... No need to think twice! :)
 
My friend had a horrendous experience with Reliance. But wait.... the experiences differ from place to place. I had horrendous experience with TATA. Nothing else is available out here so I'm stuck with TATA for now. Airtel promised me to reach my area in Feb '09 maybe then I will shift. Its all relative to where the DSLamp is sitting. If the place where the DSLamp sits has frequent power outages then its not good. You will have to ask around and check once and then decide. Down times are area related and don't think that once its down I will get refunds and stuff. Neva in ur dream think that. I'm not scaring you :ashamed: just ask around before deciding. BSNL IMO is rock solid as far as down times are concerned. The plans are a big joke and supposed in the most remote case the wire (the thick ones) go missing you are in for 6-12 months of down time.

Yeah I heard that a lot. But still, I went in for it and boy am I happy at the decision! :ohyeah:

I can particularly recall one instance when the net was not working for 3 hours and I registered a complaint. So, I get a cal from the local engineer within the next 2 hours. And the net started working after 15 minutes! That was about it. Apart from that there have been no disconnections. Maybe for a minute or two max.

But as djmykey said, it does vary from place to place no doubt.
 
Umm... I have rather befriended the local support guys; so it not much of an issue for me and I get better and the real updates (even those which the CC guys don't know :bleh: )
 
i am shifting to kasarwadi (near station) from sant tukaram nagar. i had tata earlier and it rocked! but they say they do not serve my new location. what now? any advice?
 
Perhaps Sify or Airtel. My uncle who stays in Pune is using Airtel but now a days Airtel has got some issues over there plans so i don't know if you might consider it. Anyway, i got a good feedback from him about Airtel in general but do think twice before taking it cause of these issues.

Go with BSNL bcoz TATA and Airtel have both implemented FUP policy which limits unlimited usage so BSNL is best bet.

I am living in Pimpri Ajmera. I recently brought this plan from Tata indicom

3 months- Rs 1887/-
9pm to 9am - 2mbps unlimited
9am to 9pm - 90hours/3 months free (2mbps)

+1 to that..i am using the same plan since 1.5 years and i dwld around 4-5 gb on an average and around 6.5 gb if the tracker is good :-)

So if u want to dwld stuff daily this is the best plan, but i suppose this plan is available only when we recharge(?). So you have to take some plan b4 recharging it with this one.
