Isn't Chevrolet Aveo U-VA worth to discuss here? It will also come in 5 Lac on Road and have all the features plus 3 years Chevrolet free maintenance.

I suggest Polo if you can stretch.... Swift new model is suppose to come in August. If you can wait then its also a good option...

What about the maintenance cost? The paid service of the cars from the companies like Volkswagon, Nissan, Ford is too costly as compared to Maruti and Hyundai.

WIll be delayed by a quarter as the strike has hit production of sx4 ,dzire and swift.

I've read a lot the people have issues with polo. it's got massively good German engineering. but people seem to complain about it's reliability. Wait for Honda's hatch. see how that is.

Honda Brio isn't going to be great. Only options as of now would be i20 and polo. Polo is good, I can say from personal experience. i20 is well equipped and the fastest of the 1.2 lot.

Too many hyundai fanboi's here. i10 has good handling? Ford Figo has WAY WAY better handling. Even the Maruti's handle better. i20 is fastest of the 1.2 lot? It takes 14.9 Seconds for 0-100kmph. Chevrolet Beat does it in 12.93.

dude, close your eyes and go for i10 sportz. I have been driving one for last 2 years and very happy with it. it's good VFM in all aspects!

Honda Brio is not even out yet... and i already see a post mentioning that its not going to be worth much.....
Why so.... going by the online reviews i think its going to be a catch.....

Its actually 14.86 not 12.93.

I forgot about the i10, Kappa engine does it in 12.04, so that is the fastest sub 5L.

I also forgot i20 does not come in budget.

Beat doesn't sell much, I'm sure there is reason for that, I figure its the lifeless engine or chevrolet. The blue lit interiors look great though and the car does have VFM. Economy is a decent 12 in city.

As far as i10 Kappa is concerned, engine is good and the car has VFM and a number of service centers. Same economy as beat in city.

Figo is bigger, VFM is a little less in comparison to i10 and Beat, engine is nothing great (slowest of the lot) and the economy is 11, handling is good. Not so sure about Ford service.

As per your requirements, you cannot look at any low/mid variants of any car so swift, ritz, i20 & polo are out as you will get nothing but a bigger car.

I got those figures from carwale.com. ford figo diesel is a pretty nice option, not lifeless like it's petrol counterpart and low running cost too.

yeah Figo isnt a bad idea. And I've driven the figo diesel. It has a very wide torque band. So there's no lag. There's power all the time. and besides its spacious and huge. and quite good. You should buy the Figo. Just get used to the reversed lights and wipers switches. everythin else is the same.

Personally I dont like the i10. its very bouncy. the steering feels disconnected and specially on high speeds the steering requires constant corrections. Otherwise it just sways around.

I dont like maruti cars because they have a very poor build. Their K series engines are good, but that's it.

Chevrolet might give you resale issues. I've never heard complains but I've never heard people buying them as well.

I think you should wait for the Brio. Looks like a happy hatch. With a 1.2, if it's quick, it might be just better than the i10. And plus you get the Honda tag.

With the absurd petrol price...consider a diesel i would say...and if driving mostly in city, why not cng?
but i guess this is your primary car then go for a diesel figo.... as urssriks says beat can be considered...the diesel beat (but have not driven it.)
if u can stretch a little..try the swift d..gr8 performance
Gannu bhai no disrespect but punto is a bi%(^ to mantain and after sales is super pathetic...u dont get spares for weeks.

TBH, nothing other than i10 magna will fit in the 5L budget on road. What you all see if ex-showroom price. They add insurance and octroi and RTO over it which is about 50k depending on the dealer you take it from ( Some wave the insurance and octroi)

Its a good card i10. Wonder why no one has pointed out chevy's shit ASS here. Figo good but not as good as i10 cause of the mileage it gives on city roads and its small, so its quite zippy
