don't think so. undertaker mentioned its available in delhi for that price.stormblast said:is the 9800pro available for 7.5k in mumbai. if yes where.
No u dont right now. It was offered initially with the 9600XT and 9800XT but stopped since hl2 was delayed a lot. Even when i got a 9600xt i did not get the hl2 copy. Dunno abt other places but there are no 9800pro or XTs available in mumbai as of now.anishcool said:Why is nobody talking about the 9800XT ? Not too sure about the card but is the price hike over the 9800 Pro justified ?
Also, if I am not mistaken, you get Hl2 free with a 9800XT...

A 6600GT is better than a 9800 pro in most games. However it'll get thrashed by the 9800 pro in texture intensive games (ut2k4 engine and its derivatives) cos of lack of memory bandwidth. Same is true for stuff like nfs underground 2. A 6600GT stutters at 1024x768@4xAA whereas the 9800 is silky smooth. This is personal experience as I have both the cards. Also you say the 9800 has issues. Could you tell me what issues? I have not had a single issue with it so far. The 9800 doom 3 perfomance has improved drastically since doom 3 launch. The initial drivers gave me around 43fps at 1024, HQ. The same is close to 55fps in 1024x768,HQ now. But seriously 9800 cards have too many issues. And you can even buy an XFX 6600gt on the forum now for 8k!
9800XTs are no longer on the market-no one will buy them coz even in US they sell for $200+ where as a 9800pro sells for $125 and there is almost no performance difference.Anyway on a side note ,the 5950U is finally available for less than $300 and any one thinking of buying a 6800Gt or X800XL should give it serious consideration. hyeah:
