Hey..

Can anyone help me with CD/DVD burning software other than NERO...coz the newer version which works with Vista is a damn bloatware...it eats up 300 MB while burning..plus recently it damaged my brand new "3" SONY DVD+R's...for no reason and same problem..

some DRM..i dont exactly remember..so i want to try something else..and reliable...

Well okkkey...confidence of Crazy Geek is tempting..so lemme try Ashampoo

And its fyne even if the one u mention isnt freeware..only concern is which comes very near to NERO... coz damn it screwed my 3 DVDs back to back..cant risk anymore..!!

@Shaken :- Will that custom install solve that DRM ka problem...?? it goes till 3% and then screws up...

F*ck...man...... using tried Cheetah just now..... even it screwed my DVD and gave me some drm..object not found kinda error..or something..i took a screenshot...but dunno what happened..missed it..!!

and cant risk another DVD just to get the error...Dammn...4 DVDs waste...!!

Why do i think my DVD Writer is screwed..:(...i dont have another media rite now...have some 20 Sony DVDs..will hv to get another just for experimenting..

Any other advices

No its problem with DMA.... or something else.. may be hardware...coz same my DVDs get damaged in Vista..and in XP it takes...an hour..!

nero takes more memory for caching the files so that there wont be any buffer underuns..

on my old machine it had only 256MB total ram and using the same nero it used to burn fine. but on my new machine with more memory it uses more to give a better burn..

i think you should stick with nero..

Well i understood what the problem is.....

BUT I HAVENT FOUND A SOLUTION YET...

the problem is in this thread... --> http://www.techenclave.com/forums/wtf-is-wrong-my-dvd-writer-87340.html

but no luck yet....

Can anyone elaborate or suggest something..

Referring to your uploaded image in the above thread, it shows that ur writer is iin PIO mode.
Also r u getting DRM or DMA error?
DRM - digital rights management by M$ will allow u to write a drm protected file to a portable device only some 5 times, not more than that.

DMA - its hardware part. The only reason i see that ur writer is in PIO mode is because of some bad cd / dvd media and crc errors going above normal.
