please give some more info. I have no idea about cycles but you will get replies if you answer these questions.

what is your budget?

what is the intended purpose? daily use/occasional travelling etc.

what is your height/weight/age?

Which cycle have you used earlier and what did you like/dislike about it?

Where are you located? and are you willing to buy online? options will change accordingly.

my budget 5k

daily use round trip 10km

my height 5' 9" age 28

is mtb/atb or roadster cycles good for me?

I also want to buy one cycle for early morning .

Instead of morning walk I wish to start with early morning cycling .

I already have a stationary cycle at home but I get bored riding it , after like 2-3 days I start skipping the cycling sessions , so planning to buy a real time cycle and start cycling on the road .

Kindly suggest me a good cycle within 5-8k budget .

My height - 5.10

Age - 27

What's with the gear system of cycle's ?? I have no idea about it .

Would be great if someone can throw some light on it .

Have you tried posting your requirements here?

Or reading this guide perhaps?

If you're looking for a full fledged road bike for under 5K, you're options are limited to the BSA Mach and Hero Hawk Nu-Age.

After going through the informative posts on bikezone.com , I have now raised my budget to 10k ( MAX ) . Just doubled from the original budget :P

I would request you to now suggest me some more options .

Now that you are through with the easy part, get on with the hard one. Go through more buying suggestion threads.

It would have been easy if someone who is into cycling , can suggest me a few models which i shall consider buying in ~10k price range .

I have the Schwinn Frontier Sport MTB. Been using it for a year. Loving it , really VFM.
However the MTB design was a little strenuous on my arms for daily cycling , I had to change to a higher handle bar.

I'd suggest the Hybrid Schwinn Sporterra as well!

Also consider the Rockrider range from bTwin. They have a few decent models that are even sub 10k.

Don't think you should even consider MTBs if you intend to travel to and from work. Harder to make them move faster, compared to pure road bikes. A 4.4k Hero Hawk will feel easier to pedal compared to a 10k entry level MTB.
