Best entry level DSLR?

Looking to buy the cheapest DSLR camera which will last a long time so please suggest the best entry level options that I should look at.

I might buy a lens or two down the line but for now it will just be the kit lens.

Also any new cameras to keep in mind in 2014?

BTW, did you look at mirrorless.. They are good too. Some are worth buying over entry level dslr
