Mine also used to crash. Change the compatibility mode to XP SP2 and it works.

I got the latest version from the foobar website ... running fine for me on XP ... it has such cool new features

If its closely functional to it might try moving to it.

i have stopped updating fb2k since they banned panelsui.

and for the record, this config sucks. The only one other than mine which I liked was AvA. The purists may argue that PanelsUI was a lamely coded and wasn't for audiophiles and just for noobs who'd prefer GUI to music, but what it achieved has not yet been replicated. Panel splitter + ELPlaylist are not good enough. period.
