Laptops Best laptop within 35,000/-

Guys, so is the 5738 is what she needs or there are some other models which should get attention. The look of 5738 is very good, but can't I get a better looking,stylish lappy (to be used by a girl, remember?)

Who said that men don't like stylish things or women don't like bland designs if it manages to get their work done????

I think what you are referring to is simply a stereotype in your mind.

Has she specified that she won't like a bland looking, high performance, VFM laptop???

please dont waste the extra 5.5k on 5738. i have already mentioned the difference between the 2 & the cons of 5738 (dont remember if it was this thread or the other 1). unless & until the finger scanner is a must only then go for the 5738.
 
I think ( not sure) 5738 comes preloaded with Vista for 33k, while 5738z is with DOS. Please check and correct me if I am wrong.

no your wrong. the 5738 preloaded with vista is for 36.5k & 5738z with vista is for 32.5-33k
 
Acer's keyboard is not that great when compared to dell and the screen in a disaster... Few of friends in college have acer 4000series lappies and all of them have screen problem.... their screen just turns white all of a sudden but everything behind works... so have to put the system in standby and then resume it for working.... Same problem found throughout that series.... Quality of dell is definitely superior eventhough it costs 2-3k for similar specs.....

Have you seen the keyboard of the new Acer laptops like the Aspire 5738, 4736, 5536 etc?
Keyboards on Dell laptops are crap compared to those on the new Acer laptops.

Just go to a store and take a look at the keyboard and if possible, use them. It is a dream to type on.

Ever seen or used the keyboard of a Macbook?
The keyboards of the new Acer laptops are just like that.
You are only talking about old models but here, we are talking about the latest models from Acer. It has improved by miles when compared to the old models.

The new Dell models, especially Studio 15 series, have had a lot of problems.

even m planning to get acer laptop...jus tell me howz the build quality n life of acer compared to dell wont be upgrading or gettin new one for next 3-4yrs atleast....

+1 to this... Even the new Inspiron's lack quality. Some Croma stores have both Inspiron 1525 and newer inspiron 15 (1545) for display though they accept orders for 1545 only. See the quality diff ur self.

You can go for Acer. They are at par or better quality.

Actually we as a technical community should accept and promote VFM products. But off late I can see that many people at TE are suggesting only Well known Branded products, for which, a not so technically inclined person, may not require much gyaan.
