best mobile to use as pmp

hi,
can anyone tell me which mobile would also serve as pmp.it should play most video formats.
also it should hav a large screen.prefrebly non touchscreen.

You can look at the N78(if u want wi-fi) or Samsung i450(if wi-fi not required). Both have 2.4 inch screen and Symbian S60. You can install additional codec's if u want to play some format which the phone does not support natively. Most of the codec's are free.

If u want 2.8 inch screen buy the HTC P3400i or the HTC Touch. Both run on Window Mobile and codec s are available for WM as well. TCPMP is the VLC media player for Windows Mobile phones.

Next time mention ur budget. It helps us to suggest more mobiles which meet ur requirements.

Check out the Pocket Pc Series with touch screen and windows mobile.. You can install any codec on that you want.. Its one of the most moddable and changeable and format worthy phones I can possibly think of!
 
actually am buying it for my mom so that she can watch old hindi movies while commuting.other than that she only uses the phone for calls(she wont be using the camera or net etc)
so which betn n95 and n85 would be better.also if n95 should i buy the original one and add a memory card as i've heard that the 8gb one is a little sluggish.
 
n85 out of these two. And if u dont want to spend much then even n73 with 2.4" would serve ur needs of movie watching.
 
If u are not buying a Windows Mobile phone and rather going for Symbian, why not wait till the 5800XM releases in India. It has a much bigger screen(3.2inch) than the N95 or N85.

Atleast you wont regret your decision later that u didnt wait for the 5800.

Yep waiting for 5800XM makes sense.
 
then the best bet will be nokia n85 for its gorgeous 2.6" oled screen... the cheapest and the largest screen will be in htc p3400i

How did u know your mom cant use a touchscreen phone?

Have you ever given her a chance to use a touchscreen phone. Dont underestimate people. Even though you are more tech savvy than her and she is technologically backward to you, she may still be able to accomplish some tasks which to you seems impossible to be done by her.

Always remember: Impossible Is Nothing

my mom is insistent abt this.i hav tried to convince her that with time she'll get used to it but after all it is her desicion.as for being tech savvy, i too am a noobie when it comes to mobiles.
i guess n85 wins the vote.thanks guys for ur advice
