Movie for Inspiration (My personnel favorite)

The Pursuit of Happiness

Info:

Yeah. Its an amazing movie. I was all the time praying for a good ending while I was watching it. Its great to see such movies from Hollywood, which I thought was full of aliens, super heroes and such things that you don't see in daily life.

Must watch for all forum members.

Great Movie(6 Oscar):

Forest Gump

Personal Experience:

One of its kind movie.Every one must must this......

I don't have words to explain..just watch it yourself and give your reviews about it.

Won 6 Oscars, need i say more. A not so intelligent fellow's life.

The Covenant (2006) - Especially for stunts and OST

Finding NEverland
- This is a touching movie..one should not miss this

Best Romantic Triangle Ever:

Swordfish was a joke .. mostly for the 'hacking' bits

multiheaded-2048bit-god-knows-what worm ... :P

only thing 'cool' in dat movie was Hugh Jackmans multimonitor setup. :D

Infernal Affairs or 'Mou Gaan Dou' - The Departed was the remake of this movie. It's better than 'The Departed'.

Leon The Professional or just 'Leon' - If you know the Hollywood hottie 'Natalie Portman' and like her you've got to watch this one. She was 12 when this film was done and her skills are outstanding.

Shawshank Redemption (No 2 movie on IMD

No. 1 now. It's a good movie but a little hyped . Just my opinion.

Hmm movies such as Eurotrip, and American pie in the best film ever :P

And use Mozilla Firefox, it has a spell check built in...

Mate just check out IMDB's top 250, is a good representative of most people's choices here.

IMDb Top 250

Randomly remembering movies i like : Shawshank Redemption , Pulp Fiction , Unforgiven , 12 Angry Men , V for Vendetta , Leon , Silence of the Lambs , To Kill a Mockingbird , The Departed , Saving private Ryan , No Country for Old Men .....

Jaane Bhi Do Yaroon was definitely the most hilarious bollywood movie i have ever seen .

the devil wears prada--only for merryl streep's acting

the curious case of benjamin button

kidulthood

taking chance

Have a habit of reading lists from the bottom. I was so certain that I'd find a "Twilight" on the top.

Mods, i am really not too sure where TE is heading.

All i have seen on a reg basis are such threads which really are pointless.

We already have a decent thread by hmasalia regarding movs which is fine.

Sure ppl can stop visiting thread but whole site now has started to reek like a big Mkt/Timpass junction.

noobies wd come and wd start a post like this when we all have witnessed less and less participation from our very own revered members here at TE.

Am i thinking too much or is it that you guys been thinking of turning this as another Big Lounge of a site ..?

Sort of pointless. I don't like "Best Movies ever" lists. They are a matter of personal taste. What is possible is to list - My favourite movies ever.

IMDB Top 250 no doubt introduced me to many good movies. But, it can be voted up (and hyped movies make it to the top and later on start a slow descend). Nor do I trust in Academy awards. Good movies often may not get any awards at all.

Rant over...

I could never make a Top 10 list, not even a Top 100 list. So, of this is a list off the top of my head of my "better remembered films" (and I watch only less no of films than I want :hap5:)

Also remember that I've lots of patience to sit through autere films / slow films. YMMV.

Recent (< 20 years): Shawshank Redemption, Memento, Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, Se7en, Snatch., Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, American History X, Schindler's List, The Pianist, 12 Monkeys

Oldies: The Good The Bad and The Ugly, For a Few Dollars More, Lawrence of Arabia, Bridge on the River Kwai, 12 Angry Men, Maltese Falcon (Humphrey Bogart version), The Sting, Apocalypse Now

Kurosawa: Yojimbo, The Seven Samurai, Ikiru, Ran, High And Low, Red Beard (200 mins. Patience through first 1.5 hours required), Rashomon (Not for the film, but the concept and direction)

Kubrick: A Clockwork Orange, 2001: A Space Odyssey, The first half of Full Metal Jacket.

Ingmar Bergman: Wild Strawberries, Persona, Autumn Sonata, Through A Glass Darkly

Outside Hollywood: Amelie, Leon (Stylish), Life is Beautiful

Horror/Thriller: Psycho (Hitchcock original version), Ringu, A Tale of two sisters, Let the Right one in, The Thing, Silence of the Lambs, errr.... Evil Dead II :P

Animation: Spirited Away, My Neighbour Totoro (if you can sit through animation for Children that is), Grave of the Fireflies (Sentimental crap / Haunting animation - depending on your taste)

Honorable Mentions would include .... err... list is already long

The above long list should tell you how impossible it is to list DA BEST EVAH FILMS. So, wanna continue?
