Best Music Phone around 12-13k!

Hi...

As the thread name says , I am looking forward to buy a Music phone ....:P

Here are other things I am looking for: A big screen, WiFi and a phone which does not look like a brick,should look small and good! Rest other features like Camera and all are not the top priority!

I'm not a big fan of touch screen, so it's not a must!!(definitely not with the Stick....) Also my last two phones has been by SE(used w810i for 4 years), and I like their product! Although any other company will do! :P

Plz Suggest!

EDIT: Not a big fan of Smart Phones:) Phone should not lag, I hate it :) and if possible Threaded SMS will be a bonus :P
 
If camera is not priority then i would suggest 5800 XM. It has very good sound quality and lot of features which you expect. Now with cooked FWs you get a good phone to play with. I am using it from the last 1.5 years and it never disappoint me.
 
^^I am considering that phone only! I have read some reviews of it and it seems that that Camera is the only part where it's subpar!! But I don't care much aboot the camera!

Also , what is "cooked FW" ? How is the accelerometer? and who is the phone for sending SMS, I am a heavy SMSer so...... also how does the touchscreen works without Stylus(i mean with fingers) ?
 
If you're alright with a separate music device a e63 (great for your sms addiction :P) and a sansa cilp + would be nice and within your budget. I've never really liked music with any phone but the iphone.
 
Cooked FW is mobile firmware modded by different mobile gurus. check dailymobile forum, you will know how forum members greatly modded FW. I dont think any other mobile have such options than 5800 and some s60 V5 mobiles.
Regarding music quality, i also have ipod touch and i dont find any great difference between music quality of 5800 and touch.
 
If ur looking for Music phone , then W705 is best choice ...SE Yari is also better alternative but it doesnt have wi-fi ...

Been used W810i myself for 2 years , you'll not find any Nokia phone offering as good sound quality as SE ...

Isn't 5800 better/as good as SE walkman phones? Because I was hoping to buy this one!!!!
 
^^..yep it is. And it also fulfills almost all things you want Music phone + Big screen + WiFi. It generally doesn't ever lag. About your texting query its not that difficult, yes you can easily use your fingers no need of stylus at all. Plus when you get used to it your speed will increase. But no threaded sms, not sure if theres any application for that though. And the accelerometer works very properly.

Can't comment on SE phones never heard them but I am completely satisfied with my 5800XM and SoundMagic Pl11 combo.
 
I have used it in my 5233 which has the same OS so i guess it should work fine in 5800 too . One thing i have seen is that the message notification doesnt go even if you read the message until you view in the default message box of the phone.

Signing is free , either you can register on opda , get a certificate and sign the software and install , else you can mod your phone so that it never asks for a certificate.
 
Ok .. if i may interupt here .. we all know sony as been producing some of the finest music phones for sometime .. which has indeed made some impact in india .. but .. the problem here is .. it is a common fact that with time a company betters the quality of phones.. but things have gone wrong with sony .. it has gone the other way around .. all their phones which have come out in the past 1-1.5 years have been facing much of problems .. except a few exceptions ofcourse .. not only the low end are facing it .. the high-ends as well .. W705 is certainly a good phone .. but .. ill suggest you to have a look at NOKIAs 5530 .. it fulfills all your needs for now .. its sleek .. music-friendly and moreover more faster in comparison of that .. the price may seem high .. but its worth the buy ..!! hope this helps .. :D

5800 is much more thick .. look to 5530 ..
 
^^...smaller screen 2.9 inch compared to 3.2 inch of 5800. Priced similar and lacking 3g - which can be useful depending on which carrier you are using. And about the thickness part here are the dimensions of both phones -

5800XM -111 x 51.7 x 15.5 mm, 83 cc

Weight-109 g

5530XM -104 x 49 x 13 mm, 68 cc

Weight-107 g

So basically the difference isn't much to compromise and get few added features at the same price point. Ya if Nokia had priced the 5530XM 1-2k less then it would have been a good choice:)

Agreed to your point .. i dont think the user will be using 3G very soon .. so 3G isnt really a question .. the user wanted much more of a sleek phone than a brick .. and .. while i hold both the phones together . 5800 seems a brick to me .. and much heavier .. yeah .. it gets beaten in terms of screen size .. but yes .. i find 5530 much more quick in response in comparison to 5800 .. thats my personal opinion .. rest is on the OP to decide .. :ohyeah:
