Hi,
I am looking on getting an SSD just to store my game Installations in. At first I thought about having a RAID-0 with my OS, but refrained from that as I will lose out on TRIM, and really the Sf-2200 series drives are fast enough and are nearly capping the SATA 3 bandwidth alone so I chose against RAID.
Now I intend to have 2 separate SSD's one for the OS and the other for My game installs, etc. I know that I can make do with just one and don't need the extra space, but as we speak my Steam folder is close to 80GB already and add another 2 non-steam game and I am near capacity for a 120/128Gb formatted.
The ones I am looking at are depending on availability:
Corsair Force 3
Corsair Force 3 GT
OCZ Vertex 3
OCZ vertex 3 MaxIOPs
....here what is more important? Random Read/Write results or Sequnetial? I am not sure, I believe it should be sequential, as most of the data will be large maps etc etc.
...Also I dotn think I would see any difference in the Higher IOPs versions of either of the two, as they will almost never be used in too many multi reads unlike the OS SSD?
So far m thinking of getting the OCZ vertex 3 MaxIOPS for the OS and the OCZ vertex 3 for the Game Files, OR the Corsair Force 3 GT and the Corsair GT all in 120/128GB formats...
....Please comment. If the above seems ok or m I going wrong somewhere? Also what about the availability of the higher IOPS Drives? I have not seen any dealer on TE have 'em yet.
Guess my current SSD goes to my PS3![Smile :) :)](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/twitter/twemoji@14.0.2/assets/72x72/1f642.png)
...Thanks a lot
Have a nice day,
:S
