CPU/Mobo Best side blowing cpu cooler?

Want a good side blowing cpu cooler. The layout of the case is such that the psu is just 1/2 inch from the top of the existing intel cooler of my E6300. The intel cpu cooler keeps blowing hot air towards the bottom of the case and so theres hot air coming out from the bottom :S

consequently even the fan i put to cool the hdd starts blowing hot air on the hdd's after 1/2 an hour. This has made both hdds run above 40 deg c, and my cpu runs around 55-57 without any load. on load (just a 1080p movie playing) it jumps to 65C

tried to change the thermal paste thrice, but no difference. in bios it shows 37-39C for the cpu, but climbs upto 42 after some 10-15 mins. ambient temps might be around 35 here at most times.

or should i get a better cabinet with enough ventilation? current cabby is zebronics london with a side blowing 120mm fan. (using that fan to exhaust hot air - originally it was blowing in air towards the cpu)

how about the artic cooling freezer pro 7 or some such cpu cooler? is that good one or outdated?
 
You typed a lot but it's confusing.

List out your rig specs.
List out all components.
Describe the case you got and how many fans with size/cfm details
Post a pic of left side of case with side panel open.

Then maybe something can be decided.

IMHO, its seems from your first post that your case ventilation is very poor ot begin with or totally messed up. :(
What do u mean fan start blowing hot air on HDDs after sometime. :S
What do u mean you are using the 120mm on sidepanel for exhaust? :S
Side panel fans are mostly to provide inatke to cpu and gpu as per location.
No rear exhaust fan?

Just having a lot of fans aimed at parts randomly with no sufficient exahust doesn't imply proper ventilation.
 
AC Freezer Pro 7 is a good cooler for what it retails for. Why dont you get the OCZ Vanquisher instead? It's retailing for a lot cheaper via IceFusion's Deal for 1.2k odd.

Your present enclosure has just one 120mm fan that blows hot air out? No intakes and just an exhaust? Not a good idea if that's how it is.

There should be at least 1 intake and 1 exhaust. More intakes than the exhaust is obv. better, but sucks in a lot of dust. More exhausts than the intakes, lesser dust with decent airflow inside the enclosure although there'd be a negative net pressure build-up. Some say its worthwhile whereas others debate its not. TBH I dont care. I've one good intake fan and an exhaust in my case. :P

PS: What budget would you spend on a cooler? If its around 2k get something better than the Vanquisher. I guess it comes with the push-pins. Not worth the pain IMO.

As you can see, the side fan is exactly over the cpu here. So adding a true might be impossible, since most probably it will come out of the case.

Theres hardly any space between the rear exhaust fan and side fan. If i keep both fans its not possible to close the case. Tried with a 80mm exhaust fan but its insufficient to blow out hot air.
See the ventilation holes in the bottom? if i keep my hand there with side panel closed, i can feel hot air coming out from there (most probably from cpu) if i remove the rear fan and keep side fan as intake this hot air coming out from the bottom increases. and hot air rises to the top, so the side fan just circulates the hot air.

typed too much, hope its clear what i wanted to say now. :ashamed:
 
Forgot to add this:

If i remove the rear exhaust fan, and keep only the side fan but use it as an exhaust fan, i can feel it blowing hot air outside the case. but the same problem of the ventilation holes at bottom throwing out hot air is still there.

Also rig specs: Core2duo E6300, 2 gb ocz ram, corsair vx450, 2x500gb hdds and 1 dvd drive.

2x120mm fans (scythe + default fan that came with the cabby)
 
An affordable and a simple solution: Buy a Zebronics Bijli. Use the Scythe fan. Get an additional 120mm fan like the Amigo (retails for 175 bucks!). Think of a CPU cooler later. Invest in a good cabinet first. ;)
 
What brand/speed/cfm of rear fan?
Have you removed the front bezael and checked if no place to attach a fan, for sure?
No grill at the front, in between the HDD cage area?

I think there is room for improvement with your existing cabby itself- but will need closer inspection and some ghetto modding maybe. :)

OR

Get a Zebronics Bijli (8" wide and will fit a TRUE too) w/o psu for 1K odd.
Or get a CM elite series (330/334/... 7" wide- won't fit a TRUE or CCF) for 2K odd.

Use any 60-70cfm at the rear if you have one or get a cheap and good enough got the price Amigo 120mm fan.
If you can bear noisier fans, you may opt for something else.
Buti think those Amigo are a fair balance between price, cfm and noise. :)

Will mainly help ur HDD as they will be in path of the fresh air-flow from front intake fan. :)
Overall temps should also see a significant drop. :)

If that is not satisfactory enough, then start thinking on the lines of a used AC freezer7 Pro, Thermalright Ultra 90, TR Ultima90. :P

If you have a bigger budget and not too many HDDs, start looking at an Antec 300 for 3.5K odd or CM590/690 at 4K odd.

BTW, i would have been much more aghast if not for the VX450. :P
Good psu- good choice- my regards. :D
I hope u realise that all this heat is making your VX450 cooling fan run as an exhaust fan for your system.
Thus not being cooled enough and degrading much faster than it should. :no:

buy zip ties from KMD, and mount 2 x 120mm in front, 1 in 3.25 and 1 in 5.25' bay, move optical drive to top bay.

Also disable CPU fan control in BIOS.

hiw ccan u expect from that side FAN to cool HDD?
firstly there are no holes for air intake for that fan & also it most blows over a solid metal potion :P ..........the FAN has simply No use . reconnect this fan to front of ur cabby as a intake FAN .

u are using side 120mm fan for exaust & also rear FAN are for exaust , so it careates negative pressure , but isn't enough to pull in air .

i can say : ur cabby has messed up cable management , messed up FAN setting .

what should you do ?

- remove fan from the side (which u have attached for cooling HDD, that FAN has no room for air) and connect it to front as an intake FAN .

-side 120mm FAN : so u say u cannot connect 120mm side fan when rear fan is in place right ?
attach 120mm fan to front intake & take 80mm fan(that was blowing over HDD) & use it on side panel as intake FAN .

- keep rear exaust fan as it is .
this will surely move air around .

for better results: u can get 120mm Amingo(if budget is low , they cost 175bucks) or some good quality (CM ,Schyte,etc) . get 3 *120mm FAN'S .
-attach one 120mm fan for front intake.
-attach second 120mm fan for rear exaust.
-attach third 120mm fan in 5.2" bay , as suggested by 'SidhuPunjab'.

-dump those stock Fan's , u can have very good airflow with only three of good performing 120mm FAN'S.
-if u are going to buy all Amigo Fan's then u will have bare the noise , Amigo FANS are very audible(we can say they are loud).
- u can have better cable management for good airflow.

This is how i use my FAN'S. all thre FAN'S are used for intake , & there are 2 80mm FAN'S for exaust . i have no FAN on side panel .
i have connected an 80mm FAN infront for intake in sapce for Floppy drive(as i don't use any floppy drive)

@Bikey, rear fan is scythe 120mm.

i cannot remove the front bezel (thats the first i tried). its been fastened by screws on one side (see pic with the fan in side of hdd - i'm talking of this fan attached side) and the other side of the case is fastened with rivets.

Little space between front bezel and hdd cage, but fan blades hits front power connector and usb and audio wires in side panel.

@sidhu and @sudarshan, Hardly any space in front of 5 1/2 drives to connect a fan. in fact i'll have to connect it outside the cabby if i have to make that space usable.

+ cpu fan control is disabled in bios.

Most probably i'll have to dump this cabby and get a bijli or better cabby.
