just needed to know about gc that are decent enuf for 1440 x 900 resolution. decent cud be defined as high or very high gr setting wid medium to high aa..

^ 4850 is overkill.

But if you can go for it, do so. Go even higher as long as you meet the power requirement, however this would be just future-proofing for later games/if you decide to go for a bigger display/play at higher res.

HD 4670(get the 512 MB one, don't bother with more memory cause it has just a 128bit bus, tons of shader power though), 9600GSO(the original one with 96 shaders, basically a rebranded 8800GS with less power consumption, It's an AWESOME overclocker, even the 384MB version will keep up with a 9600GT with a modest OC), 9600GT are some of the cards you can consider. Go with whichever you get the best deal on and depending on your power supply.

that mean going in for 4850.... 4870 is just out of question ryt.

BTW i would not be ugrading my monitor anytime soon. A 19" Sam or Dell whichever is available at a lower price in my city.

Thanx

^^yea,,, HD4850 512MB or GeForce 9800GT 512MB is AWESOME for 1440x900..

i have 1280x1024 n i run games on 60+ fps with 8XCSAA on ultra high settings..

Game look damn good... Dont buy nything above or below these two cards.

Buying a 4850 would not be a good idea if u processor does not do a 3GHZ or above...
If this is the case ur GPU would be bottlenecked by ur CPU.... So u gotta tell us ur rig specs before we can advice...

i made the same mistake when I ordered a 4850 OC edition for my 5200 based AMD rig.... Result: I have now upgraded to E7300 which runs at 3.6Ghz:)

So unless u have a good CPU u should avoid 4850 :hap2:

can some one tell me the temp of stock HFS non-sonic 4850 palit ....even i m lookin for a good card to play at 19 " native.........but i m worried ab the temp issues...

It is around 45-50 depending on ur cabinet I think:)

I have similar situation sorry to add in here but i have phenom II 940 black edition processor would be it bottle neck for 4850 :) just wondering and i have CM690 what would be temps

i don't know whether it gets bottlenecked by the CPU but at 1440x900 it won't even be strained by nethng except crysis, warhead, farcry 2.. if ur only priority is to get a gfx card just get the 4850. Gud enuf future proofing for a long while.. :)

the procci wud e7300... though not overclocked for a fair bit of time

+ G31 mobo from Giga.. So i guess it wouldn't be a bottleneck for a fair deal of time

Case wud sourced locally but the PSU would be VX450 wid 4gb ram

Config looks good...Though the G31 is not a good overclocker...u get a good VFM overclocker mobo for 3k:)

BUT i highly recommend u go for the 4850...its an amazing card.... u can play all ur games all full setting @ AA 4X with this card..... Beleive me u will really start enjoying the games just for the graphics:ohyeah: :ohyeah:
