Can anyone suggest the best TV (LCD/LED) in a 45k-50k budget? NO grey market.

For general tv viewing and must be full HD.

I'd prefer a 40-42 inch tv but suggest lesser inches ones too if they are better quality.

thx:)

I am chipping in here, don't want to hijack the thread though. Also looking for a good TV within 50K or so. Plasma will also do. Any pointers?

Sony has best lcd tv range in the market, costs 1-2k more than LG SAMSUNG n others but has exceptional QUALITY than other brands, i have a BRAVIA 42 inch LCD tv full HD amazing performance as i had used samsung lcd tv earlier did not found it much better than SONY.

LED tv in 40-42 inch would not fit your price range of 45-50k

Plasma will do. but ive heard that the ones available in this range are basic hd ready ones and not full hd. :(

also they take double the power.

you may suggest a 32 inch led too if the picture quality will be better. :)

but should be full hd.

and guys pls tell the model name and serial no of the tv you suggest. :)

Sony 40" BX 400 series TV's were @ 41K about a month back on eBay(item code was 290467160633, has ended.). Panasonic 42" was for 34K, dont know specs(item code was 390229252099, has also ended.). Samsung 40" series 5 LA40B530 you should get for around 45K or even less, my friend got 2 of them around 4 months back for 96K from VS, Sion.

32" LED TV will be around 50K or higher, i dont think lower.

I am looking at this thread too. In the same dilemma. Everyone, please be a little more specific. Samsung 42" is a very wide term. Please mention the model name at least.

LG 42LG80FR full HD LCD is available for 47k (not sure if the Airtel DTH is free with it). Even though this is the 2009 model, specs look good.

Go for Samsung LED/LCD if you dont have a USB enabled DVD player(which can play avi,mp4,etc) and specially LED range its really a good one. I went last week for demo for all brands Sony,LG and samsung. i tried with the HD video which i had in my USB i pluged it in and played it :D (new way of testing) i was happy with samsung LED range. Sony is also good but it wont support much of File format play via USB my cousin is having bravia LCD 42"" i tried almost all formats with MP4 using all converting s/w but it didnt played the files i am still looking for a converter which gives a sony usb playable format files :(

mean while i found Samsung Manual which shows lot of details on file format play

chk out page 21 it will blow your mind :D

AFAIK, Samsung does not have any 42 inchers in the market, nor does Sony. LG, Panasonic have them.

Samsung has 32, 37, 40, 46...etc

Samsung has got the TV's based on series, like 3, 4, 5....each of them come with a generic set of features.

I currently have a LA46B530, which is a 46 incher 5 series TV.

The newer 5 series TV's come with USB movie playback. They are "C" instead of "B".

@Vivek: I was referring to this thread and only used Samsung 42" as an example:

The LG 42LG80FR seems like a great VFM TV. But won't be good for wall mounting because of the placement of the ports. Any more suggestions?

Check out the Samsung C530, the 40" would cost you less than 50k and match the sony with a few extra features like direct HD playback, straight off the USB, making if much better vfm than the Sony without compromising on the quality :).

Me and a few of my friends got the same tv recently and all four of us landed up with the S panel :)

LA40C530 for <50K! Wow! VFM. But is the colour rendering good? In my 46B530, The colours are highly saturated when playing images as a slideshow thru USB. Sound playback is OK!

Also for those whose budgets are about 40K for a 40" LCD TV, foll. links might be useful.

^ I've got a B530 too, but the C series is much better straight out of the box, not much tweaking needed and much better black levels.

You should take some time out and try and calibrate the b530 using spyder or one of the other tools available, I used to have a few issues with slightly reddish skin tone on it, but after a few hr's of tweaking was able to get it to be displayed just as I wanted.

Well for under 50k and no grey market.

The obvious choice would be the 40C530. No idea about the toshiba which uses a SPVA panel ,but i doubt it can match the samsung image processing ,in the sony only the EX400 and above is good which again is above your budget .

BX400 mostly as OEM stuff.
