Storage Solutions Best Way to Ship Hard Disks ?

guys my friend wants to send me his Hdd.. it has Some Data in it ...wats the Best way Ship Hard Disks Without Any Damage ?....

doesnt u r frnd have its case..the plastic case that comes with..the HDD??

maybe u can pack the hdd in tht case and then again repack it in a box..surrounded by..hm thermocol ..or sumthing...not a very good idea..but maybe it will work??

wait for replies...from more members....who have done .lots of shipping of hardware...
 
Best way is to cut out an enclosure from a sheet of foam. Not very soft foam but slightly hard and about half an inch thick. Then pack it in a box filled with foam peanuts.

Other option is to wrap it in bubble wrap, preferably with larger bubbes, not the type u burst with one finger. But im not sure if thats available easily. With regular bubble wrap just wrap it with about an inch thickness and then box it tightly with foam peanuts for extra protection.

Ive had quite a few vendors in the States ship me OEM drives with the above packaging. Never had trouble with any of them.
