Doing a small study on improving attrition rate of employees in our company. I was wondering if you may input your valuable suggestions on the same topic.

What would you prefer

A) Very much renowned company, OK position and marginal payout.

B) A less renowned company, a Good position and Good payout.

Catch over here is the "Credibility of the company" which is very high in Case "A" i.e. can be compared to top 10 companies in the industry, but not that much in Case "B" i.e. can be compared to less popular but a well-established company.

Cheers

A less renowned company, a Good position and Good payout.

Infact I made this choice just few days back.

growth and progress will me much more in a smaller company. plus since company is small, you are bigger in it and significantly bigger contribution to the company :)

Smaller company.... as u get better package ....and you get more variety for job skills development.... bigger companies screw with employees all the time..

Work 'n' learning r the thing that keep flowing in; in case of small company... That's definately a facto for those going to start they IT career!!!

aah for me - renown doesn't matter, an average package is fine by me , the position is not important as long as the work is interesting for the majority of the time - just let me go home on time, dont disturb my weekends - thats all I ask for (Free time is priceless :ohyeah: )

A less renowned company, not just for better pay but better growth and you can learn a lot more compared to a renowned company.

join the bigger company for a lesser pay ...get it onto your cv and have the smaller companies pay higher to get you into their company later :D

Knowing the facts of a less renowned company

1. Lots of stuff to learn
2. Good Position and Pay

I would say that its always better to stick on to the well renowned company for a long time (atleast for 2 years) provided there are no conflicts between your superior, Manager etc plus you love the work that you do.

Reason being

"The value that you reap after you stay there for some time .... pays"
You will be called as the assert of the company and your hard work pays, you will get unimaginable pay + position after you gain the so called "EXPERIENCE" from that company !!

Also you will get so many benefits when you are in there !!

This is the good lesson that I learned over the past, I worked in a company which was nothing (just few employees) to a well renowned company, after 5 years ... it became the great Perot Systems (Perot acquired that company). Then I switched over to a less renowned company .... for a higher pay and it was too late for me to realize that I did a mistake.

In fact, thats what I'm doing right now :P The growth potential is much more in a smaller company. And generally, the quality of work is much better too. Plus, in the bigger companies you tend to get lost in the crowd. I'm speaking from experience.
