i doubt its really that bad. This was a pretty jaded review, they seemed to be intent on giving it a negative look.
My guess is that it will start selling like hot cakes when it reaches its correct price point, but given my experience with the 5800, i'll wait to see what the potholes are before i take the road.

Anyways Nokia is no longer the innovator or hardware specialist anymore, they need to catch up with the rest of the crowd.

GSMArena Review of the N97

Nokia N97 review: Lock, stock and touch - GSMArena.com

In my opinion N97 is too little too late. I don't think it would have a lot of buyers at its price point. The 5800 represents almost 90% of the main features N97 at half the price. As such it got a lot of attention and was successful. This will not be the case with N97.

There are already much more better Symbian S60 5th Edition, Windows Mobile and devices coming out and of course there's the new and improved iPhone which just got promoted from its fanboi play toy state to a much more serious smart phone with the 3G S hardware and the iPhone OS 3.0 upgrade.

All things considered, I will give N97 the skip. I am much more interested in replacing my stop gap 5800 with either the Samsung Omnia HD or even the iPhone 3G S. The only thing I hate about these phones is the large ass LCD's on them. No one wants to talk about an LCD less than 3.5", but at least most of these phones other than the iPhone 3GS have a 16:9 aspect which means that they are least a bit smaller width wise.
