Bharti Airtel appoints Huawei to supply, manage 4G ([font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]LTE) [/font]network in Karnataka
[font=Helvetica, Times,]Huawei Technologies has been appointed by [/font][font=Helvetica, Times,]Bharti Airtel to design, manage and supply [/font][font=Arial, Helvetica]4G TD-LTE[/font][font=Helvetica, Times,] networks in Karnataka. [/font]
[font=Helvetica, Times,]Airtel 4G is launching in Karnataka after [/font][font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Bharti Airtel launched its [/font]4G[font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] services in Kolkata a few weeks back. Airtel will initially offer 4G through dongles only because of lack of 4G ([/font]LTE[font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]) devices in the Indian market.[/font]
[font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Chief executive officer at Bharti Airtel, [/font][font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Sanjay Kapoor, had earlier said, "The impending launch of 4G in the country will provide ultra high speed data access, driving fundamental changes in society at large. We look forward to the launch of 4G technology in India."[/font]
[font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]The 4G/LTE service has the potential to provide download speeds of around 100 Megabits per second [/font](though Airtel isn't currently providing these speeds) [font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]when a user is on the move, and can go up to 1 Gigabits per second at a fixed location.[/font]
[font=Arial, Helvetica]Bharti Airtel has also Partnered Huawei in [/font][font=Arial, Helvetica]part of Bangladesh and [/font][font=Arial, Helvetica]Sri Lanka and is also the 3G provider in the Indian states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Huawei also plans to launch LTE 4G services in Pune, Maharashtra and Chandigarh, the capital of Punjab.[/font]
