at what resolution is that BTW?undertaker said:Okay. But never heard of 'Global Connexions' and google shows no info on it.
Must be the name of BFG fab/oem unit.
And btw does enabling "reflect all" in water settings extract a high performance penalty in HL2?
Coz when I enable that option along with all high,4xaa+8xaf,the game runs slowly at 20-30 fps but on toning it down to "reflect world" its runs uber smooth 35-65 fps.
Did you try flashing to the gainward bios? Might increase your clocks a bit.undertaker said:Okay the limits for the card are 580/1134 a bit low but not too disappointing I guess.
Even on the BFG 6600GT OC,one reviewer got 545/1090 on a sample where as another site got a whopping 590/1250 on another one.So my results are average.
And finally,it is BFG beyond all doubt coz the BIOS string is the same as on the latest BFG 6600gt cards-5.43.02.41 and when I opened up the BFG BIOS using Nibitor,I found the sub-vendor ID field blank just as in this card.Only difference is that the BFG defaults to 525/525 where this one defaults to 525/450.
undertaker said:No,not interested man.Running it at 554/1.11 w/o problems(according to my rule of (max)-(20 or 30) mhz for stable ocs).I once had a bad flash on the 5700LE and still remember the horror of trying to type commands on a blank screen over and over (tooka total of 2 hours!) until I got the card fit and fine again. hyeah:
So been there, done that when it comes to video-card overclocking. My experience:Unless you stand to gain too much(upto 20% or more) its aint worth the hassle.Use coolbits and be happy. :cool2:
PS:The Gainward uses a custom bios with a max voltage of 1.5v in 3D-mode,so it will improve the core overclock which ain't the bottleneck on the 6600Gt anyway.1134 mhz ain't bad for 2ns ram,and increasing the memory overclock can be done by increasing latencies which is a very messy affair with little or no benefits.Higher latencies for 40-50mhz extra won't necessarily improve performance and may even decrease it.
