Dear TE....how about a section where we can post about things other than PC's....and gaming..... For example I am an avid biker & trekker and often combine both....
@ home (Jabalpur) my GF & I believe in getting out once a month (now everytime I'm down)....and just heading into the distant blue....you know clearing our heads with a night out, campfire style......kindle the romance with no-one around excepting the mozzies (mosquitoes).....

Coming to OC'ing bikes I own a new karizma and an older shogun.....the karizma has been modded with an expansion chamber pipe inside the old shell....and some judiciuos drilling around the clutch/swingarm/plate area...has weight reduced by around 6 Kg....even the outer engine block has neat holes.....this allows better cooling and @ 18 bhp (my assumptions here no dyno used ;) )......it can go better than most.....

Now how bout posties regarding passions...Oh we could keep one about our girlfriends too :bleh: (just kidding)...

Hi Vandal,
All non tech stuff can go into the Entertainment or Chatterbits section:)

Feel free to post such stuff there.
As for a dedicated section for the same....depends upon the response and posts regarding this.
Thanks for your suggestion.

Hey dude!!! Nice.... a Karizma.... but at stock, my P180 DTSi will still kick your Karizma's @$$ :P

And yeah, as XT said, you can post in Chatterbits section.

And for a dedicated cars and bikes forum, visit http://www.xbhp.com/

and start a thread on whatever you want in the Chatterbits section.....

And what is the time taken by your bike to go from 0-60?? Approx.... I guess it will be difficult to calculate exactly. Mine does it in approx 2.xx seconds.

But I could be wrong. I am confused whether it was 3.xx or 2.xx..... Will check once I get back on my bike. Which will take 2 months :P

no way u can do 0-60 in 2,3 sec's....stock....

btw what I did was put an exp cham on the bike and pipe it up under the stock karizma pipe which is now a dummy but has nice vents which I have made (looks cool)...

right now it is lying back home and being started every 3 days by my dad, then revved and so for 3 min, and shut down...:(

i have a shogun too

and my uncles bullet

never timed 0-60 but i've done 118 kmph with my GF as pillion.......

hmm..me did 115 doubles in a slope :P and 125 on a stretch singles...:P

me has a RX135 5 speed :D

Well then, maybe not... I forget.... could be some 4 or something....

But mine is stock as of now.... No money to buy a K&N filter :( :(

are u kidding expansion chamber in four stroke bike ...... i think ur mechanic is taking u for a ride .....

all the after market silencers are waste nothing does more than adding noise ......

the exhaust of bike is designed for best fuel efficiency and performance there is no way these cheap silencers achieve that ....

fitting a free flow silencer will not increase the performance untill and unless id desinged properly for that specific bike

There is no indian bike that can do 0-60 in less than 4 secs ...... and no way a 180 DTSi can beat a karizma ....... have u riding a karizma i have one at home(my brother uses that) and its damn stable way better than pulsar ...... pulser is very light and unstable ..... every time i try to ride fast that bike i end up in wheelie even in 2nd gear that is very bacd ..... tho in new pulsar things are little better due to increased wheelbase .......

Royal Enfield Machismo 350cc/18bhp 2004 model is my pal. I though about
going for Karizma for a while, but then I'm the kind of person who prefers
power and solidity over beauty and style, when it comes to choosing hardware
for myself.

nice bike there, that was my next choice, I had originally Pulsar, then bought an Enticer now plannin 2 switch over to Thunderbird, this bike total awesome, dis rokz,

Ok.... looks like my forced distance from my bike has made me dream up it's achievements... So, 0-60 in less than 4 secs is impossible....

Wrong buddy!!! The new 180DTSi with Exhaustec can beat the Karizma in acceleration but NOT in top speed.

The old DTSi(without alloys) is better in acceleration.

The KZ is faster from 0-40 but after that the P180 is marginally faster. Check September 2003 Issue of Overdrive. In top speed too, it is faster.

how i envy the Bullet ppl :( my dad has a bullet..he lent it to someone, and he didnt get thet for me..instead he got me a RX135.....

well, me have a 16T front sprocket..increased my top speed from 110-115 to 125 now :ohyeah: a small hit in the acceleration dept however....

but nothing beats over-revving at 2nd gear, 10K+ RPMs..hehehehehe

personally, i preffer the older machismos ('99). the 2004 one looks like its trying too hard to look like a ww2 bike.

You're right! But the older ones have gear shift on the right side, which I never liked anyway.

Yeah, that right-sided gear shift is real pain-in-the-tushie... :)
In my order of preference, I best like the Karizma, firstly 'coz its not so common as the pulsar, better styling and the extra bhps. The second choice would be the Pulsar 180, I might have liked the Pulsar better but since its too common, it doesn't hold the flaunt value. [Almost every second bike on the road nowadays is a Pulsar, though a 150 variant.]

True..... The Karizma's bigger engine gives it a higher performance if modded well. The P180 is restrained by it's cubic capacity.

And yeah, the Pulsar is waaay too common. A few guys I know bought the KZ for it's exclusivity.

But I bought the P180 for it's outright performance. and I did not like the styling of the Karizma.

Ah, somebody is talking about bikes here.
I own a '03 rxz ( one with 5spd & disc up front ). The motor has been ported + running a custom digital cdi + a flat slide carb alongwith a UNI foam filter. All these mods take the bike to a true top speed of 130kmph ( shows 140 on the meter ). The speed was measured using a radar gun.
The flat slide carb gives a very clean n crisp throttle response. The digital cdi does away with the rev limiter ( the stock motor can rev upto only 8k rpms max, it manages about 9500rpms in 5th now and 10krpms in lower gears ).
All the work was done by RDDreams of B'lore. The best part is the emissions have come down to 0.1 % ( yes am running the stock catalytic converter ) after all these modifications.

man i feel that the karizma is overpriced..... a digital speedo , fairings and a phatka of 15k more then a pulsar... doesnt go down well with me..

can you believe it.. that i had booked a P180 .. and had to cancel it cause my mom didnt wanna spend more then 70k :( .. and none of the loan schemes for a p180 was going below 70k :(( .. i got so depressed.. had to settle in for a 150 ..

but well i`m happy :D

still in the running in period...

have done around 560 kms till now.

tell me people..

i usually keep my bike at 50 kmph on the 4th gear ... that is ok right?

and i feel as if my mileage is lower then 40kmpl..... at approx 5 ltrs it should have gone for atleast 200kms.. but it started stalling at 170 :(

when i`m filling petrol .. and if my bike is already running on reserve .. then that means that when i fill in petrol, it would start filling up from the reserve right?

cause if that`s soo then i think my mileage is above 40kmpl :P

pls do clarify this noob doubt of mine :P
