Linux binaries?

None really.
I assume u are talking about *nix binaries. It cud also mean an RPM (something akin to a windows installer)
 
Binary files are those which have the program's executable code in machine language, relocation table for dynamic relocation, symbol table for external references and some header info.
In short, binary in an executable file :)
