Post your Rig along with the FPS you are getting with what settings... As for mine will take another day or two but you guys can start with yours...

Lets see how the game performs with different rigs :)...

And ofcourse your take on the game...

P.S. Please dont forget to use the spoiler tag keeping in mind some of us have not started/reached at that stage in the game...

Amd 64 3500+

1GB ram

7600GT

Playing the game on 800x600 high settings - Gives me around 40 FPS, but falls down to 10-15 for a couple of seconds under heavy action....

C2D 6400 @ 3200

2 GB RAM

X1900XT

Playing game on 1280 x 1024 @ High Settings... Give me around 40+ FPS or so... Have not felt any jitters as of now... Also have just played over an hour of the game so cant really say...

The engine feels a lot like DOOM III engine... More OpenGL rather then DirectX... Does anybody else feel the same... Also me playing the game on a CRT rather then the LCD so the game is looking very bright... I mean the game is dark but it feels as if the gamma is all wrong...

BTW what are you guys using for FPS check and Screen shots...

E6600 @ 3.0 GHz

4 GB RAM (Cellshock's @ 888MHz - 4-4-4)

1900XT 512MB, DX9 Mode.

OS: Win XP Professional.

Playing at 1440 x 900 all settings maxed. FPS ranges from 45~60. Avg should be around 50. Also played at 1680 x 1050, but the Avg FPS was only around 40 and sometimes went to 28~30 in some places. So playing at 1440 x 900.

Using ATi Tray Tools to get the FPS in game. This should give a very accurate measurement as it works at the hardware and driver level.

Guy's please mention the Graphics Mode (DX9, DX10) and the OS too as theres a lot of variation in the FPS based on that.

rig E6600 stock 2.4

2gb transcend ram

7800gt 256mb

Tried the game at all max setttings at 1680 X 1050 getting like 15-25 fps

dropped the resolution down to 1280 still getting about the same

my poor 7800gt is dyinggggg.... :(

Update the game seems to give me an avg FPS of 50 or so @ 1280 x 1024 everything maxed... And yeah the game is good... Not very happy on the gfx front but the amount of stuff you can do in a FPS in fun... Takes a while to understand some of the stuff...

Rig C2D 6400 @ 3.2 Gigs

2GB DDR2 RAM @ 5 5 5 15 @ 800 MHz

ASUS P5B Dlx

X1900XT

DX 9

Win XP

Why can't you guys use Fraps or Rivatuner?

Seriously. I don't get it, why do people always want to do things the hard way.

anyways, Currently Installing BioShock, BioShock honestly takes ages to Install. I started Installing at 2:15 then at around 3:00, The Installation was still going and I think it was almost done, and BAM! thanks to a powercut and my dead UPS, all that went to hell and I had to start from scratch. The Installation is still going as I type this; Will post pics, benchmarks and thoughts after this thing finishes..

At those settings, graphics looks quite dated...btw getting my copy of Bioshock pretty soon(by today or tomm.), will update my stats once its here.. And can people confirm about the overall gameplay, does it deserve the kind of scores its getting from the review sites????

Where are you getting it from?

Yeah, the game sure deserves a high rating. From What I have seen, the opponents in the game are some what repetitive and most events are scripted, but still there is a lot of flexibility in how you play the game. flexibility means re-playability and that itself implies a good game.

Okay, god damn! thanks to another powercut The Installation got Interrupted half way through : / Installing BioShock for the third Effin' time now...

Installation Started: 5:20pm

Fingers crossed

It took me less then 10 minutes :S...

Why is it taking ages for you... Or is it that your net connection is too slow...

- My two cents (graphics) -

The graphics in BioShock are good...actually, they're decent. the shadows, animations and water effects are nice. but like previous UE3 based titles, the graphics are Inconsistent; many textures look great while others look something from 2003. The DX10 mode doesn't allow AA and thus the game looks Incredibly jagged, the DX10 mode supposedly makes the water look a bit more real (and it looks nice TBH) but that's pretty much it. I've yet to see any graphics that would "WOW" me. even with 16x AF the textures don't look all that good. Also, the blood effect in BioShock are worst I've ever seen. the blood looks like frozen tomato ketchup. Anyway, I'll see If I can run this in DX9 mode with AA. I'd rather have smooth textures than good looking water (who stares at the water anyway) some screenshots are below, all are high quality without any pixelation. also, on a related side note, the game automatically turns ON Vsync every time you fire it up, I haven't tried forcing it via CP so I don't know If that would solve this.
