Just finished it this afternoon.Simply awesome story from start to end.Loved it.And the shocking thing is it was quiet smooth on my 2yr old rig.I was playing at 1280*1024 with all the settings on max and still getting around 18-20 fps which seems low but its still very much playable.:hap2:

Also what are you guys doing with the little sisters... Are you harvesting them or setting them free...

Actually it seems that cumulatively you get more ADAM by setting the little sisters free than harvesting them. It seems that one get 160 ADAM by harvesting and 120 if you release them. But for every three little sisters released, you get 200 ADAM as a gift.

Anyways, It seems that the game was originally coded for the XBOX 360 and then later some optimizations were made for the PC. The game doesn't seem to make use of the UT3 engine to its full capabilities just like Prey which uses DOOM 3 engine is made to give smooth graphics on console than the best graphics on the PC.

Yes. But compared to other UE3 Ports (R6: Vegas comes in mind) It's a hell of a lot better. It's a bit annoying really, the current crop of consoles is powerful enough to play these games but they're not powerful enough to play it at maximum settings with all the eye candy. In most cases, PC Gamers are left with toned-down console-tard ports. Strangely enough, we've only seen this "Inconsistent Graphics" issue with UE3 games. Call of Juarez for example, was available for both PC and X360, yet the PC Version never felt like anything was toned down or recycled (in terms of graphics and screens. and not gameplay since they edited/added stuff In different versions) I can't help but wonder whether Epic Doesn't really want any game to show off UE3's real power other than UT3 itself. AKAIK, they've still haven't given out Proper Renderer, hence all UE3 based games have problems/issues when running HDR+AA. oh well, not that we can do anything about it anyway. even the devs know that. with all that marketing and HD Videos, people end up buying the game anyway. Even if it turns out to be a poor purchase decision afterwards

Hey finally got my hands on it, didnt like the graphics, everyone here is playing it on Vista or XP??, my ahem* version doesnt allow me to run it in vista, if some1 has played it under vista, howz the graphics like, any better or just the same...i think the only good thing bout the graphics is the water...

well i tried bioshock on my onboard 6100 card and after installation when i try to run the game i get no VGA hardware detected :P

Hey,

finished the game last sunday!

*simply amazing game*

i rescued all little sisters + killed all Big Daddys, got good ending :)

( don't forget to collect you gifts for saving!!! )

man they should bring out an expansion or 2 soon

Was it just me or you too consider the game game to be a little short... Also some glitches in the game...

You cannot access previous voice recorders if you have got a new one. This is really stupid as you need voice recorders to get some of the codes for various doors and elevators. I had to virtually replay 1 complete level cause of this.

You need three to four different machines to buy/swap plasmid's... This in my opinion is not good as a lot of time is wasted for just striking the right balance of plasmid's.

Voice narration is not very clear. Or maybe it was just me as i never checked for the subtitles option :P.

Biddaddy's are a lot easier to kill in comparison to some of the splicers :|. Three grenades and its over. Splicers move fast so they escape the greneds and if three attack together and you are not carrying a engage plasmid then its RIP for you.

The final boss is even more easier to kill in comparison to a big daddy. You just need the right kind of gun with full ammo. He was not even able to reduce my health by half forget about using extra med kit. I expected more in the final battle.

Thats just about it :P...

the graphics are same. the only differencs I noticed were:

1. Water -

the water is a bit more realistic and shimmery and behaves slightly better when you interact with it. the strange thing is, the water effect BioShock gives in DX10 are possible with DX9. hell, we've seen those kind of water effects in DX9 games like Half Life 2, FarCry, Vampire: Bloodlines, TES III: Morrowind why they didn't Include it in DX9 is beyond me. perhaps something they can tout as being "Next gen" ?

2. Smoke - the smoke effects look much more real and "soft" but they're still nowhere near the quality of smoke we've seen in games like World in Conflict.

the other major thing is that there's no AA (Anti Aliasing) in DX10 mode. hence the game looks INCREDIBLY Jagged. the performance Is more-or-less the same. that's about all I could notice, I posted some DX10 screenshots few pages back, so check them out if you're interested:)

Guys I am in little bit of bother here, In which way do I get a max amount of ADAM, as of now I've harvested one, and a lady docter promised me some reward if I rescue them. Is her reward so gr8, that it'll be better off rescuing than harvesting. Also one other thing, how can I increase the slots for plasmids. Currently I have only two.

when you save 3 sisters, you get a teddy bear with 200 more adams + some more stuff.....keep on playing you will get the option to open up other plasmid slot...

Reusing them will give you a positive ending rather then when you harvest them... Adams count remains the same... if you look at the overall picture... If you pare planning to replay the game again then either harvest or rescue all in the first go and do the opposite in the second go...

You can purchase slots in the gatherer's garden once you have adams...

So far I have harvested one & rescued one, thinking about loading back and rescuing both!! And by the way how can I access gene bank!!
