Bioshock wont run on inspiron 1520

Hi guys
I have just bought Dell Inspiron 1520 and installed bishock on it.But it refuses to start.The game crashes as soon as i start it cant even get to the intro..:huh:

my laptop has C2D T 7100 at 1.8Ghz,8600M GT and 2 gigs of ram with windows vista premium.I have the steam version of the game.Have installed the 163.44 Drivers but still it doesnt work..can someone help me here..
 
Hi, laptops are generally not the best for gaming. There are plenty of issues with games not running on laptops and stuff. I know, I have one myself and have heard lots of my friends crib about it.
 
u dloaded the whole game on the laptop or did u pick up the installation folder from other comp to this... ?
 
I downloaded the game direcltly from Steam..

Edit--Its working now..:)The problem was bcoz of the direct X.I updated the Aug version of dx n it started...but now i have a dif problem..The game runs as 4:3 screen and the right one third of the screen is not used atall and whenever i try to change the resolution of the game it hangs...van someone hep me with it..
